Gilbert Gottfried was my neighbor's brother. You wouldn't believe how shy he was, like an entirely different person than you'd imagine. But he was the absolute best brother and uncle, babysitting and doing laundry for them while his sister was at work teaching full-time. I was so out of the loop, I didn't even know he was a celebrity. And unless you were familiar with his work, you wouldn't know it either. That's how humble and unassuming he was. I'm sure he will be greatly missed.

Gilbert did a hilarious little "skit" for Bill Maher's show, making fun of how, for a time, probably the first couple years of Trump's administration, Bill (and almost everybody else in America,) had never heard Jared Kushner's voice. "The guy never talks, nobody knows what he even sounds like!" lol "So, we here at Real Time have managed to get our hands on some super rare footage of a Jared Kushner interview;" And, on a screen, Jared Kushner would be shown speaking except Gilbert Gottfried's voice was coming out of his mouth, it seriously caused me to spit my coffee out all over myself the first time I saw it, it was so shockingly hilarious. (Edit; apparently I forgot it was Jon Oliver not Bill Maher!) 👼 Such a legend. 👍 😅 R.I.P. 🙏 (it hit a bit harder than usual when I'd heard he'd passed.)
