My woman will be 27 next month. I ordered the DVD box set with lots of commentary and extras. She has been a fan ever since I introduced the show to her. Great box set. I remember every one of these. Great show. Box set doesn't take up much room at all and for any fan of good situational comedy, this collection is most definitely worth having IMHO

I don't really watch a lot of television but whenever I watch an episode of Newsradio and see Bill Mcneil doing things like this it just lightens my load. I would imagine this is how he lived as well. RIP Bill. The stories I've heard about how you're the only one there for people who've hit rock bottom have actually been quite inspiring. Such a shameful loss.

@@stevefyke8640 I actually think all of this would fly today. At least something pretty close to it. The writing on network comedy is just not as tight as it used to be. No one watches network tv anymore, so they can’t do anything that appeals to a niche audience.

RIP Phil Hartmann, what a tour de force of acting! Beyond brilliant. That show was way ahead of its time when it came out, and is STILL better than most of the crap we have today.

Phil Hartman was banging around in Hollywood for years--but the world didn't know who he was... until he played Bill Clinton on SNL. He said, "I started doing Clinton and then I was on the cover of TV Guide. I became... a household name... I didn't have to look for work anymore. Work came to me." Damn it, he should have been around just... a little bit longer. Brynn took away a bright shining light from this world.

There is an episode of News Radio where David is talking to the rest of the group. First you see the group then David then the group again but now there is another (strange) guy standing between them. Then again you see David then again the rest of the group , now again without the "guy". And the guy isn't mentioned at all. Pretty sick joke, i loved it. Anybody now witch episode that was?

I spent a couple of years in the 90’s hoping a Khandi Alexander sex tape would break. (History lesson if you’re under 45……in the 1990’s it was scandalous for a celebrity to film themselves having sex. And somehow those tapes would “leak” out to the public, causing a brief period of embarrassment but ultimately a popularity boost.) 90’s PR agents were savages
