I had neck surgery and had to be in rehab for 2 weeks. Because of this movie, I called the rehab experience "Groundhog Day" since they put you on a schedule that repeats every day with therapy sessions, meals at exactly the same time, and nurses saying the same stuff every day to patients. It drove me NUTS!!!!!!!!

I heard this movie is used in philosophy and ethics classes and such. It was acclaimed worldwide as a movie that was transcendential to all faiths and cultures. It make a strong case for personal belief and realisation and understanding community etc.. it really is a good movie.

There is only one scene I wish could have been added in the movie. Phil should have tried to stay awake the whole night, staring at the clock from minute to minute. Then we would have known exactly what time it was that the day was reset.

I am very surprised this iconic Bill Murray comedy is thirty this year! Also, this may interest some of you; In the scene where Murray's Phil Connors tells Andie MacDowell's Rita he's a god and starts introducing her to the people he knows in the café, when you come up 3:23, on the right, you will see, playing Debbie, a much younger Hynden Walch (the voice of fellow Teen Titan Starfire and Adventure Time's Princess Bubblegum herself). Truce.
