Guess you forgot that part where he said he was not there but that he heard about the school shooting on the radio and jumped on his bike with his camera to do interviews about it. What everyone seems to have forgotten is the fact he could not have been IN THE SCHOOL during the shooting, total lockdown, no one allowed in or out. Which means someone on CNN caught the graft and had another interview done with David Hogg saying that he was in school at the time of the shooting. The description of the issue was disingenuous at best. I watched the video in question of Hogg after Ingrahm's tweet and not only did he not whine, he was humble in that he acknowledged that there are many impressive applicants, he's not that special and highlighted the problem of colleges being impacted. He did in fact get into colleges, just not UCLA. Hogg is perfectly within his rights to push back against someone publicly and with full knowledge lying about his words and character. He's also well within his rights to not accept a forced and insincere "apology" that didn't actually apologize for what was said. She only "apologizes" for the target feeling hurt by her words. It's like Beck and O'Reilly think free speech is only afforded to them and that free speech means they are entitled to agreement. Idiots.

Where did David Hogg whine? Where did he say that he was not accepted at his chosen colleges because of his activism? Laura Ingraham gets away with smearing and sarcasm and mistruths and general nastiness all the time - doubtless it did not cross her mind that a hateful tweet at a 17-year old would rebound on her; that is how confident she is. Her apology was meaningless as it came only after advertisers withdrew from her program; she was saving her skin. O'Reilly at least believes one should not use one's power against a 17-year old on a personal issue. And he does this against the protests of Glenn Beck. You are certainly right and the young man simply was answering a question as to how he was coping with everything and he merely said in passing that he'd been rejected by some of the schools he'd applied for and left it at that. He didn't say it was anything unique, which it isn't these days for any kid, who will in many cases become indebted for life by these outrageous loans they have to take out in most cases because higher education is becoming naught but the provenance of the rich as they have so nefariously calculated edging this country ever closer to Capitalistic Fascism. Laura Ingraham saw no real opportunity in besmirching these kids for what they are becoming, articulate advocates for displaying some thoughtfulness. I frankly as a 69 year old senior citizen had come to think it was no longer possible in this consumerist society which is shallow and vain and wholly ill informed by the current media model. Ingraham had her orders and had to find some reason to try and trivialize Hogg as some self absorbed stereotype teenage boy showing off for the crowd so divined some pretense of whining in answer to some question put to him by a reporter. This also showed me I was far to easily given to generalizations which every generation does to the ones that followed his as if we were not often just as shallow. And the kids of my generation like these when things get really problematic, and I think has been true throughout the history of the United States, always has those among them with the passion to stand up and say something has got to change. David Hogg and all the rest of these kids are simply fine examples of the next generation who will lead this country in the future and I'm comforted by the thought they are so mature already. On the other hand cynical money grubbing right wing whores like Laura Ingraham and all the rest of these demagogic talking heads who have no real philosophy other than lets monetize everything, who would sell their dignity, their integrity, and simple common decency for a dime.
