@@RHatcherMD The biggest problem post-1991 was that too many people used that freedom to utter their opinion, not to be excellent to each other and bring the world together, but to talk down on others and calling them names. No, really, I mean it. The "Web 2.0", where everyone found they had a platform for their opinion, no matter how offensive and / or inane, was where it all got wrong.

So many reasons for me that’s made it meaningful... - Their music saves the universe, creating the conditions for centuries of lasting peace for all humanity and non-human life. - Bill & Ted proved everyone wrong that they would never amount to anything good in life. But, they proved it to themselves in the end that they were capable of greatness. - To see two childhood best friends overcomes the odds and fulfill their dreams was a heartwarming thing to see. Especially in those two moments in the end where they play their guitars back-to-back and then followed up with that high five. - Giving God glory and showing gratitude for how their lives turned out. - In the blink of an eye (literally) maturing from immature 20 somethings to the senior ambassadors of rock n roll. - Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey had an ending that inspires hope. What started out to be a screwball series about teen hijinks and time travel became something much more touching in the end. I don’t think that was planned. Because the Battle of the Bands was not the original uplifting ending for the movie and the song played on stage for the live audience was not Kiss’ cover by Argent. Post-production by the studio with those magazine and news clips perfectly timed with the last minute choice of “God Gave Rock n Roll To You” was one of those rare cinematic moments of catching lightning in a bottle. Right up there with the ending of Rocky and Rocky 2.

I love this scene. HOWEVER - there are 4 guitars playing in the beginning. The lead either has two guitars, playing in a one octave split or a foot pedal that simulates that, and the rhythm that Ted is playing is definitely doubled and split left and right. But it sounds fucking AMAZING.

Bill and Ted raised a family, revealed the afterlife, proved the existence of extra-terrestrials on live TV...in their band no-less, became masters of time and space, established world peace, and forged harmony in the universe. I watched it and thought it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be through the way people acted like it was,but they were better off leaving it at Bogus Journey. It would only make sense for Face The Music to happen if they made sequels about the daughters. If not,Face The Music wasn't worth making although it was great that Ted's dad accepted him as a musician and believed that he went through everything him & Bill did going through time including marrying the princesses

My favorite thing about this has always been that they eventually make it clear that "God Gave Rock & Roll to You" isn't actually what Wyld Stallyns are playing - The Song is left to our imaginations, where it can't disappoint (in contrast to the end of Mr. Holland's Opus, where we all listened to his piece and said "Yeah, he was a better teacher than a composer.").

The creators of Bill and Ted always downplay the end credit headlines that we see flying by, because it was the studios idea, so it isn't "canon", but I'll take this ending over Face the Music's anyday (a film which I never need to watch again)

@@tigerbread78 a movie that a few weeks later I only remember the running around, the old/infirm bill n ted chatting and the father-daughter impromptue chat moments of. I can remember almost the entirety of the orginal 2 movies despite not having seen them in over a decade, god gave rock n roll to you is permanently stuck in my head upon hearing their character or actor names (or george carlin), but I can remember maybe 2-3 minutes out of their third film and none of the "music".
