There's plenty of great music. Unfortunately we now have to hear every damn band on the planet and it becomes a case of diamond in the rough. Whee as in the 70's even all the way up to streaming you may have bought 1 record a week and mostly based off hits you heard on the radio. No, there's plenty of good music. The garbage you have to get through is what makes it feel worse.
@TaeHyunSoo132 жыл бұрын
@@yesterboom They said when music like “this” was made. “This” pertains to this song 💀 You’re a damn lie if you think music like this is still being made. No one here is shitting on modern music, they’re just saying that they don’t make music like they used to, which is true.
@bulldoggery2 жыл бұрын
@@TaeHyunSoo13 Don't be more of a jerk that you can manage. Are you actually claiming there are no singer songwriters with acoustic guitars? Or are you whining that it doesn't count unless it is *this song* itself? Jeebus. I've been listening to this since it came out in 1971, it's one of my favorite songs. But I'm not dense enough to pretend I know *all the bands.* You pretentious git. And I guess you haven't listened to any acoustic Radiohead. Or does it only count if they rewrite this specific song? Maybe you should go check SRV's cover of Little Wing, and then school us about guitar music. Idiot.

Ain't No Sunshine Ain't no sunshine when she's gone. It's not warm when she's away. Ain't no sunshine when she's gone And she's always gone too long anytime she goes away. Wonder this time where she's gone, Wonder if she's gone to stay Ain't no sunshine when she's gone And this house just ain't no home anytime she goes away. And I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know Hey, I ought to leave the young thing alone, But ain't no sunshine when she's gone, only darkness everyday. “Ain’t No Sunshine” (1971) was Bill Withers’ first hit. A KNOCKOUT‼️ The part where the singer-songwriter repeats “I know, I know, I know…” (26 times in a row❕), THE VERY HALLMARK OF THE SONG, wasn’t originally meant to be. The lyrics were yet to be completed. Mr Withers explained, “I wasn’t going to do that, then Booker T. said, ‘No, leave it like that.’ I was going to write something there, but there was a general consensus in the studio. It was an interesting thing because I’ve got all these guys that were already established […]. Graham Nash was sitting right in front of me, just offering his support. Stephen Stills was playing and there was Booker T. and Al Jackson and Donald Dunn - all of the MGs except Steve Cropper. They were all these people with all this experience and all these reputations […]. So when their general feeling was, ‘Leave it like that,’ I left it like that.” Unsurprisingly, “Ain’t No Sunshine” won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Song in 1972. The piece has been covered by an impressive host of musicians, in a wide range of styles : Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney, Isaac Hayes, Lionel Hampton, Prince, Sting, Kenny Rogers, Tom Jones, Lighthouse Family… In 2015, Stevie Wonder inducted Bill Withers into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, performing “Ain’t No Sunshine” with Withers sitting next to him on stage. MEMORABLE❕ To this day, “Ain’t No Sunshine” remains ONE MONUMENTAL R&B STANDARD‼️ 💙🎶💚 May you rest in peace, William Harrison Withers Jr. (1938 - 2020)… 🌹

This song always reminds me of a train ride from Carbondale to Chicago in 1974?. It was a very very long train ride due to heavy snowfall but I had been asked by a former lecturer to sit with him. I didn't notice how long the ride was. Was just super delighted to chat with Dr JJ. I can't remember what we talked about. All I knew was that it was a fantastic train ride/chat. There were no romantic expressions at all I remember someone was playing this song on a cassette recorder and I told JJ I loved the song. Yes I had feelings for JJ. I never really discovered how deep they ran. Almost 50 years later I realise I actually loved him. Never told him that. I knew he was married and principled. Now I wish I had. He died in 1987. I didn't know. I had returned to my home country How, why haunts me on discovering this now. I wished I had told him I cared for him. When I meet him on the other side ... I will. If you love, care for someone... ALWAYS let the person know in a proper way. Because you may never get the chance to do later. God bless.
