I've been a fan of Skillet for a while now, and one thing I love about them is that despite being a Christian band, they don't just aim for the Christian audience as John Cooper has said, they aim for a wide audience which is why they never really preach or anything in their songs, they have hidden Christian meanings but never "throw the religion in your face". Plus, Jen Ledger is awesome and English, which just adds to the awesomeness!

preaching doesn't mean to throw religious stuff at you but it is to bring restoration, healing and encouragement, and more things that God can do for you. so Skillet kinda preach to you but it is not always like you just said it in their music. Christians get their message right away but other people get their message in a different way.... it is crazy how God uses Skillet

John's voice is best when he really projects. Dont hold back dude, the more intensity you use the better your voice sounds. Jens vocals are excellent as well, and I absolutely love songs where they go back an forth. Discovered Skillet about two years ago, and they have been my favorite band since.
