I remember flicking through the t.v bout 10 years ago and seeing 3 cushion billiards on Eurosport. At first, I didn't know what the Hell they were doing, but after watching for about 30 mins I got the concept and have loved it ever since. (watching it that is. I have never tried to play it)

Would someone please educates me the reason why switched hands to his opponent, right after he did such a great shot at 5:13? Perhaps, I’m lacked of understanding the professional billiard rules. Thank you. Oh! I understand it now. As it was explained by @aprendochino “The point in this case is scored when…, but before touching the last one your ball has to touch at least 3 cushions”. Wow! That’s kinda difficult to achieve though.

Shouldn't that bottom spot on the scoreboard keep count of how many proper contacts were made? The spot stayed at 0 the entire match. Sorry, I'm trying to learn.

This is Billiards ! Anyone can put a ball in a pocket (Pool or Snooker, what's the difference ?) But make a SINGLE three cushion, takes 5-10 or even more attempts even for the best snooker players, I would argue !
@pontuserikson58686 жыл бұрын
Each player has one own queue-ball. And then there is the neural ball. The aim is to, with your own ball, hit both the two others (your opponents and the neutral one, the order doesn't matter) - but before hitting the second one, the queue-ball must touch three cushions. Then you have scored a point. The queue-ball can sometimes hit one and the same cushion twice (without having touched another cushion or a ball , just by extreme screw) ! Hope this helped !

I should have written "at least three cushions"

It's true that three cushions is one of the hardest variations of billiards, but thats a pretty bold statement, check Effren or O'Sullivan
@nugenki5 жыл бұрын
@@Luffi98 I agree, OP's statement is a huge stretch. Every discipline pushes it's own boundaries to it's limits. Also Efren was already a good 3cushion player in the past, and it shows.

Puzzling over the third shot at 2:00 - it looks like the cue ball hits two cushions, then the red ball, then...the other ball? Where is the third cushion hit? I can't see it even in slow motion
@aaron-yoon5 жыл бұрын
it actually hits the long rail again after hitting the red ball. the framerate and quality of the video make it hard to see but the cue/red balls wouldn't travel that way if he only hit the first 2 cushions
@djnak78565 жыл бұрын
@@aaron-yoon Ah got it, thanks. Finally noticed it at 0.25x speed. Which also cleared up a decades-long conundrum - the draw shot in "Donald in Mathmagic Land." Always thought that was a 2-cushion shot, until I played it back reeeal slow and noticed the third bounce and subtle change in direction.
@aaron-yoon5 жыл бұрын
@@djnak7856 you're welcome. it's something you pick up when playing for fun having to referee your own games. knowing ball pathing and common shots is often easier than counting rails.

Shit man, I was wondering the same thing, then I saw your comment and the reply, checked the replay and there it was, fucking crazy. But it hit two cushions, then the ball, then the cushion again, then the last ball. So I'm guessing the cue ball just has to hit three cushions before hitting the second ball, it doesn't matter what order tho right? As longs as the cue ball hits three cushions and the red before the cue ball hits the yellow, no matter what order?
