I think that the song is actually about a toxic relationship. Everytime the verse where she says "I'll love you till the day that I die" she's being pulled to a messed and chaotic room, representing that everytime she's with that person, everything falls apart or smth like that, and when she's alone, sitting anywhere, she's not with him, that's why it's calm in these verses. Anyways, loved the video 💕

If you look closely especially at the part where she is being pulled up, it kinda seems like she has given in to that love that she is lost in or maybe she is so in love that she is almost blind to it. Adding on to that, her facial expressions are giving that phase (or maybe it's not a phase) of love where you are in complete awe of the other person, the part where you cant help but laugh and smile whenever they send you a text message or when you think of them. That part of love where you can't seem to function because they're always on your mind. That's just how i saw it at least...🤷

BLUE about the music video, I see this music video being an interpretation of Billie from how she sees this song, on her interview about how she made BIRDS OF A FEATHER she said she loves giving songs and videos that viewers can interpret and relate to in their own ways, and she also said she saw this song as how she wished she felt amongst all the other songs, the song is about love and not only romantic but it is also about how obsessive and consuming love can be, in the music video we see a lonely girl alone in the building being dragged around, controlled and maybe even abused by this ghost, she yearns for that type of bond and love and affection with someone but she doesn’t have it so she is dragged around by the idea of what she wants, nothing, a ghost. All of the dragging around could also be a metaphor to how much you could let someone hurt you but you care so much about your bond and relationship that you will endure it and not let go, no matter what loving them until the day you die.

It took me a minute..but this is how I see the video.. This is what I think it symbolizes. Again..just my opinion The office may symbolize the “rat race.” A way of life in which people are caught up in a fiercely competitive struggle for wealth or power. Or it can symbolize “the business” (or the music business) side of life. When she’s on the chair, it looks like it’s spinning in different directions like a compass. And then finally it stops in one direction and starts pulling..and then it pulls her right off the chair and she’s going through walls standing..her arm/hand is behind her. Like her hand is searching for the hand it’s supposed to hold. But it gets to this wall that she can’t seem to get through. Does it symbolize metaphorical walls that Billie is putting up that is keeping her from getting to her love? Or maybe a wall someone else is putting up? Preventing Billie from getting to him/her? She gets pulled up the wall..and then dropped..but can’t seem to get through it. But to the right of that wall is a darkened hallway into a darkened room. And in some shots, it’s a darkened doorway. Does that symbolize the fear of falling in love? Finding that person? Fear of the unknown? She can just go around that wall and walk down that hallway or walk through that door..but she doesn’t. Also..the way she sings that second verse? While sitting and standing against that wall? Like she’s aching to get to the person on the other side of it? It’s like she’s desperate to get to this other person.

If i’m being honest on my first watch of this video my only thoughts were about how absurdly beautiful this girl is. That’s it. Only thoughts. Face card = LETHAL. HOWEVER, on second watch, I do think it’s about having a magnetic pull towards someone regardless of circumstance. Maybe a situation that’s a little one sided but you’re blinded by feelings. Being possessed is also a good analogy because love can feel that way especially if it’s not reciprocated equally.
