Billie has a lot of heavier music - her first EP "Don't Smile at Me" has light music; He debut album is not particularly light - Billie - in my mind - presents the fully rounded palette of human experience; - one song is about contemplating suicide "Listen Before I Go" [ her Mom upon hearing her write it was very concerned; Billie's response was that writing and singing about it was better than doing it]; another is about seeing friends killing themselves with drugs "Xanny" - if those things aren't a part of the human experience, her music won't appeal to many - other "POP" musicians will be better for living in "happy" spaces - I'm 69 - I'm not a veteran - but I have experienced a close friends suicide, not living up to expectations, my mother's 'lifelong battle with depressions; Billie is a kid - and lots of her music speaks to me.

You should start at the beginning with the song that started it all for her called Ocean Eyes. Her brother (the guy in the car with her) wrote it when he was 17 but he believed it suited his 13 year old sisters voice better and recorded her singing it. They put it on SoundCloud one night and the rest is history as they say. Such a good song!

She basically had a dream about suicide where she jumped off the golden gate and in her dream no one cared or noticed so she felt that in real life and her brother is the one in the car with her because he was always there for her when she had these dreams and in general. Also both their expressions were calm and no one was panicking to represent that she’s not scared of anything when she’s with her brother. Can you please react to the music video watch by Billie ❤️

@@VETERANREACTS She sings a lot of slow songs. That’s not for everyone… and that’s okay. :) And a lot of the songs have a very deep meaning to them. Her voice is very unique though. Hopefully you’ll like some of the other ones I suggested a little bit better.

Good reaction, love this song, but probably not the best one to have started with. If you knew any of her history, you would understand it better. That girl had been through so much by that point, and most of it pure idiocy from the public once she became famous.

Copycat That's from her EP. Yes a good bit is dark because she was so depressed. Everything I wanted is my all time fav so you hurt my feelings a lil bit buy that's ok.
