Just a heads up! Billie is dropping a new song AND music video on July 13th. The title is “what was I made for?” And it’s for the new Barbie movie. She said the movie is a life changer and hopefully the song is too. There’s a teaser/snippet of the song floating around where you can hear her sing the opening title. I have a feeling this one is gonna be a good one. But have tissues handy! She said “get ready to sob”

Thank you for the billie reactions, my brother. Appreciate it. I feel like a lot of males are afraid to admit they like Billie because yes..she has a large female following. But there are also a ton of closeted male fans. Being that I’ve seen Billie live now (for the first time) last year..I can tell you that the fanbase is EXTREMELY diverse. All types, shapes, sizes and colors..and AGES. Her oldest fan is a man that I believe is like 89 or 90 years old.

Thank you for covering this. Released on July 21, 2017, 6 yrs ago by 15 yr. old Billie and 19 yr. old Finneas. I do not believe the song is about the challenges of stardom - though that context may have contributed to her depression. I believe that it is about self-hate and depression which hung over Billie heavily in her 15th and 16th years. It is directly after "Copycat" on her EP "Don't Smile at me" and is an answer to anyone who would copy her - "what are you doing copying me - I can't stand myself". For me, the song is beautiful and will last. the vertical video has 320 M views and the COLORS [a German production group] Version has 180 M so that's 1/2 Billion views. Today, on Instagram & Facebook Billie shared that she and Finneas have written a song for the new Barbie movie - the song "What was I Made For" is due out July 13, 1 week from today, in the morning. I don't know what part it plays in the movie. I'm 69 and follow Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Neil Young, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and Billie!

3:45 she was actually a dancer before she was a singer songwriter! But she had lots of injuries so she couldn’t do it professionally anymore.. she also has hurt herself many times during performances! Bless her heart she just wants to dance cuz it makes her happy ❤

I almost begged you for Billie a while ago but for my own mental health, I stepped away from music completely for almost 2 years. That being said, and trying to move and coming back to music reaction, the song, Stylo, by Gorillaz will make you blow your headphones off. I joined re-Instagram because I thought if I can’t afford a therapist, I might be able to get a positive message from you. I think you took the word "sell" too literally 😅 When she says "got a mood that you wish you could sell", she means she wishes she could convince other people (and maybe herself) that she's as happy as she tries to appear. While there's a little indictment of how society treats celebrities in this, the song is mostly about the personal experience of depression. About wishing you could at least *seem* happy, if not be happy, and wishing you were anyone else because you're so numb and hate who you are.

Great reaction. Just a comment, when she just told you she wants to commit suicide ("I don't want to be you anymore" looking at herself in the mirror) your instant reaction was to comment on her dance movements. No hate, just seems like that didn't register with you. And yes, Billie did say she was often feeling suicidal during that period of time, including coming close to jumping out of a high story hotel window in Berlin. Someone checked in on her, otherwise she thought she might actually have jumped.
