Billie has a history of being groomed, was in an abusive relationship with her first boyfriend who was 22 while she was 16. Mind you, they were “friends” for a year or two before dating. She alongside Millie Bobbie Brown (who was also groomed by an adult boyfriend as a minor) were creepily approached by Drake who acted like a typical predator (having private, inappropriate conversations/talking about boyfriends etc). She then decided to keep dating older men in the industry despite writing a song about the power imbalances in dating grown men as a teenager. Jesse, despite Billie’s current age, is a creep. Not only was she his fan, she maintained a close relationship with him and his longtime girlfriend since she was 15.

I don’t think the age gap is a problem at all. I’m in a relationship with a larger age gap. It’s the knowing her at 15 that seems a little off and suspicious, but we don’t actually know what happened. It just seems weird, especially those costumes🤢🤢 definitely in poor taste. And regarding her songs, I’ve also experienced grooming and inappropriate behavior and much more, but that doesn’t mean I live my life avoiding those situations. Sometimes people don’t take their own advice or learn from their experiences.

i am a fan of the neighbourhood and i found the relationship very creepy but i do not think its fair to say he groomed her. you could make the claim that i am being unnecessarily nuanced since i do think its weird but i think it is important to be careful with language. yes he met her when she was 15 but from what we see (and obviously this is surface level - i do not know these people personally) they were not friends. jesse was also in a longterm relationship at the time with another public figure, for like 7 seven years i believe. and obviously its possible to groom somebody when in a relationship but it just does not seem to have been that way. when we don't know the people i think its wrong to throw the predatory label on them, especially when the only proof we have are two pictures they took together when she was a minor.

My youngest daughter and I have these kind of conversations on a daily basis. I told her she needs to take a break from Reddit because it's pretty disgusting. There's alot of this going on. If you already knew someone when they were that young then you definitely shouldn't be dating them. Its just not okay. I have a family member who was seeing a girl and said he wasn't aware of her age until he was already in love with her. I know he didn't know because she looked like she was his age at 16 years old and showed him a fake ID. But I really didn't like that he was with her. I also just didn't like her as a person but they got married and were together for years. But it always left a bad taste in my mouth that he was with someone way too young for him. Had this been a habit I would've had a real issue but she was the only one. I just don't think it's okay.
