I never listened to the lyrics in detail because the melody was just so beautiful, but this song seems to be as tragic as she sings it. It sounds like someone who has finally settled on something they knew all along; that the grass was never greener on the other side. That they'd perhaps hoped that an inevitable change would be good for them, and maybe it is, but is it who they really are.. The way I listen to it is a song of returning to a lesser time, but one that the individual is just more comfortable in. And more themselves.

What I love about Billie's voice is that, even though she has grown up and it has deepened, she still sounds as sweet as ever. Her voice and interpretation are really a gift in an era in which most of the singers strive to sing in a very unnatural and synthetic way.
