I also went to a lesser but very posh and perfectly nice private school and while not everyone was entirely mannered all the time certainly the children of respectable business moguls and politicians were well trained in basic please and thank you and behaving nicely while filmed in particular but in public at all. I’m not some shabby plebeian on the internet fantasising about private school. I had a very high powered father myself and I certainly was taught, as were my peers, that being polite and well mannered in any matter regarding his business was essential and if I was representing the family publicly I was expected to be on my best behaviour. You’re acting like she’s not being filmed and these are not advertisements, which they are. ETA: I come from politics and the art world indirectly, not a merchant or business family, but many of my classmates were especially those from the Middle East or Asia. Again, I’m not sure what sort of private school you went to but at mine while, yes, girls will be girls and there were acts of rebellion we all knew HOW to be polite, well mannered and which fork we would be expected to use at an upscale dinner. I had ridiculous things like comportment and barre classes at my school both directly SOLELY AND ENTIRELY to how to behave in these situations. Yes, actively taught to use utensils properly, sit and stand “nicely” and of course things that seem bizarre in retrospect like how to ride a horse and do ballet. Again, I’m not from extreme wealth. I’m from a political family but I attended school with quite a few children from very extreme wealth who for the most part had been raised from birth to understand that their behaviour reflected directly on the family. I can only say this with all due respect but if you didn’t have a “family name” that needed to be kept pristine I’m sure you had a very different experience.
