One of the most detailed painting videos you have done, I really appreciate seeing all the steps along the way and all the work you did on the model. Batushka is a great choice for 40k and knights especially

Sprue goo is really helpful for when you really just need something to fucking stick in place, too. So many times I've had arms, hands, etc snap off at the connection point when I only use plastic glue, sprue goo is a really, really good part-sticker. Like mortar in a brick/stone wall. Especially if you then go back in with normal plastic glue and make it melt back in on itself at the seam. Very very useful for connections with lots of weight on them.

What an incredible piece of art. Honestly it's jaw-dropping. How many hours do you think Hephaestus took? Have you ever done a brightly colored army, even if you've scuzzed it up afterwards. Omg I had completely forgotten about Batushka too - like the only black metal band that I like, unless Rotting Christ are Black Metal, who I also like. Jesus such good Chaos Knights. GAWWWD.

thank you!! it's so hard to tell at this point, but i'd say at least 30-40+ assembly/cleaning and kitbashing, and 20-30+ painting. It took a long time to decide on and find bits I wanted too. I tend not to plan my kitbashes out super much since for me it's more fun to improvise along the way, but since I knew he was going to be an important centerpiece model I tried to be pretty discerning about what I added. I've painted bright armies, there's a couple videos where I try doing oldhammer color schemes on this channel (my other favorite style of painting), but I mostly paint in this dark blanchitsu adjacent way right now because A. it's much faster (Hephaestus is an exception, I try not to spend more than 1-3 hours on most non centerpiece models in my armies) and B. I just really love dark color palettes and feel like it matches the lore more. The way models look in the eavy metal scheme vs art has always felt a bit disparate and I love 40k the most when everyone is very dirty and standing in darkness.

you need to use the dirty down as a wash. put a heap in a little pot then let it dry. then put water in it to reactivate it then use that as a wash. creates the nice bright rust new rust look.
