One wonders whether the commenters on this page think that power is sexy. If so, they might keep in mind that someday they could live in fear of a cold, cruel, powerful man, as did Grigor Andolov. Grigor Andolov, for chrissakes. Another message from the writers.

No. Narcissistic Personality Disorder, colloquially known as a "God complex", "a conviction that one is infallible, merits special attention and privileges not enjoyed by other people, and can achieve anything one wants" (Look it up.). People with NPD continually employ a false face to manipulate others. Note well that Prince believes it to be an accomplishment if people see in his face what he WANTS them to see, the accomplishment of a master manipulator. A convincing false face. He does not want his face to reflect clearly who he really is, at core, because that would not be an exercise of power. Power is candy to people with NPD.

He is Frank that's how he channeled this character. It looks like Russo finally figured out what Frank wanted from him. That's why he sucks as a replacement for the bad guy now Chuck has to be both hero and villain

He’s talking about being a politician lool
@zeitgeist5134Ай бұрын
Ah. Somebody who actually recognizes the writers' intention. The title of this video has attracted mostly macho-wannabe simpletons. They slavishly admire Prince, God Complex and all, though he is boasting of using a false face to manipulate people. This, even though politicians are despised for doing likewise. (These moronic comments leave me fuming.) And....what does "lool" mean?

"God Complex" colloquial noun. Psychology. A conviction that one is infallible, merits special attention and privileges not enjoyed by other people, and can achieve anything one wants: a nonclinical name for narcissistic personality disorder [the technical term found in the Diagnostic Systems Manual]. Prince is mentally ill. He takes eager pleasure in the prospect of causing the American people grievous pain, "for their own good", according to Prince's own egotistical opinion. Note well that he has no reason to think that he himself will suffer grievous pain from his actions as President. Likewise, Prince will suffer no grievous pain when he launches a nuclear first strike, or so he believes. He lives in his own delusional bubble. Yeah, someone with a God Complex, living in a delusional bubble, would probably not have a "victim mentality". Furthermore, someone who, enraged, throws a printer at another person THROUGH A WINDOW...that guy is NOT a stoic. Marcus Aurelius would be dismayed to hear your...ahem...inaccurate...use of the word.

Thought provoking.

The "thought provoking" statement of someone with Narcissistic Personality Disorder, colloquially known as a "God Complex" (Look it up.). The writers intended us to be shocked by the dangerous, delusional egotism of a master manipulator, just as Ryan is so shocked. "People see in my face what I WANT them to see." His false face. Scary as hell, not "thought provoking".

"There are people that things happen to, and there are people that make things happen." Such a great line. Pretty much sums up the difference between Alphas and Betas. Those who make the best of the hand they are dealt, and those who think the world is a scary place which is inherently stacked against them.
@johntaaustin2932 жыл бұрын
Not at all what he is saying. Making the best of the hand you are dealt is still being at the mercy of circumstances beyond your control. In your scenario, the cards are still happening to you. You are not happening to the cards. Prince is not talking about “making the best” of whatever situation you find yourself in. He is talking about becoming a person who creates their own situations. Chooses their own cards Sure, a person who makes the best of a situation is much better than the person who whines about it but neither are alphas. The alpha is the one who made the situation. As Bobby Axelrod said on a previous season of this show, “nature didn’t make me. I made me”
@cpfalcon512 жыл бұрын
@@johntaaustin293 Sounds like semantics to me. Axelrod had did not have it easy growing up, and he had to work really hard to reach the point where he had full control of his circumstances (well, most of his circumstances, at least). There were obviously times earlier in his life where he was dealt a crappy hand and "the cards were happening to him," but that doesn't mean he wasn't still an Alpha during this period. It's the Alpha personality within him that helps get him to the point where he's a self-made man with near absolute power. He didn't become an Alpha after the fact. If you are saying the bar for being an "Alpha" is that you basically need an 11-figure net worth, then I think we have very different definitions of what that word means. I'm using it in the "near-half of the human population" sense, not the "handful of ultra-elite" sense.
@johntaaustin2932 жыл бұрын
@@cpfalcon51 I don’t disagree that Axe is an Alpha whether he’s broke or a billionaire or that strong people figure their hands out and weak ones whine. That aside, it’s still not what Prince is saying here. Prince is talking reaching a place where these theoretical cards we’re discussing don’t matter. He’s not telling Rian to make the best of a bad hand. He’s telling her that she was doing the dealing of the hand and that’s ok. Rian was worried about how she would be perceived for an act that she initiated. Prince is telling her that the power is in being proactive (the dealer) and not reactive (the person making the best of the hand). In Prince’s scenario the concept of Alpha v. Beta isn’t applicable

A young woman (an employee) who regrets having had sex with Mike Prince. Her name is Ryan. She recognizes that she had sex with a power-mad egotist, a shameless manipulator, as reflected by what Prince says in this scene. She is appalled...and shaken.
