Tsuki's dance teacher in Osaka was Momo from Twice's sister! She comes from a good lineage.

1:35:00 I don't know much about K-pop _groups_ starting out that way; many have started out doing busking performances kind of as training, but that's often when they're already signed (an obvious example is seen in Stray Kids' survival show), as Mamamoo would have been when they did those busking shows you mentioned. Busking often takes place in the Sinchon/Hongdae area of Seoul; every weekend there's an entire section where it becomes pedestrian-only and you have street performers all over the place. One example of a K-pop _band_ that started that way is Onewe. _Now_ they're under Mamamoo's label, RBW, but they started out as three friends at music school who formed a band and roped in one of their other mates to sing, then recruited another vocalist along the way at a talent show. In those days, they were known as MAS 0094; only _later_ did they join RBW as a group, undergo more training, and redebut as Onewe. I'd agree that Billlie are kinda mid-tier in terms of popularity; they're doing fine, but when you look at many of their peers debuting around the same sort of time, you have the likes of Aespa, Ive, Le Sserafim, Nmixx and NewJeans, who are all way better known; NewJeans are kinda the anomaly, even though they have the HYBE backing; all the others are either Big Three (Aespa, Nmixx), or they have the pre-existing fanbases of some of their members (Ive have Yujin and Wonyoung, Le Sserafim have Chaewon and Sakura; all four were previously popular members of IZ*ONE). And while as a huge Belllie've, that does kinda frustrate me and I want to scream about them from the rooftops, I also think they're absolutely things absolutely right. I often find myself comparing them to Dreamcatcher, and this is one of those points; they're not chasing instant fame, trying to follow the big trends; instead, they have their own vision, and that vision involves putting out just _lots_ of top-notch content, and letting it speak for itself. As far as I can tell, they're being nurtured properly, and they're going to be able to stick it out for the long game. 1:45:00 Correct, but also not quite. Moonbin sadly passed away while they were promoting Eunoia in April, and Sua took a couple of months off to mourn; she returned in June, just as Suhyeon went on a hiatus to deal with health problems, then Sua herself also needed to retire again for _her_ health in September. But it seems they're both feeling a lot better now, so hopefully we'll be seeing them again soon! But in the meantime, they decided to release a single album with the five remaining members to keep the momentum going. There's actually a really nice 15-minute video on their channel called "Side-B Chat", where they went out for a meal and discussed the preparations for this comeback. A lot of it focused on Sua and Suhyeon's absence, how the others had to learn to operate as a five-piece, Haram taking over as the new "eldest sister". At one point, Sheon looks into one of the cameras and address Sua and Suhyeon directly, saying in not so many words: "If you're watching, take all the time you need to recover properly; we'll look after things till you get back." It was such a nice thing to see; a lot of the time when groups are missing members, you don't really hear much about them till they come back, but Billlie are keen to make sure we don't forget them (as if we would). 🥰💜💚 Well worth a watch if you have a chance; it'll warm the cockles... (I would have written even more of an essay, but frankly AmadanMath covered most of what I would have said anyway... 😜)

I think something I noticed is how difficult it is to break out in Kpop I'm hoping that some of the mid/smaller groups really get some love shown to them! I am going to do my best to highlight them so if you have any definitely let me know! That whole comment about Sua and Suhyeon's absence from Billlie was so touching! I'm glad the others want them to heal so they can come back soon! Very excited to see where Billlie goes! Definitely one of my favorites groups rn!

@@AudioAddictionmedia Absolutely - once I fell into them, they immediately went into my top tier with Dreamcatcher and Rolling Quartz; these three are the ones who get my money, where I'll basically try to get all the CDs and merch I can. Their vocal harmonies were the cheat key that pulled me in, but you soon find out there's a lot to love about 'em... 🥰

Ooh finally you get to react to Billlie!! I'm so happy, they remind me so much of Red Velvet (tbh they kinda are like their cousins 😅 being from a subsidiary of SM). I like how commited they are to the lore and how many concepts/different sounds the girls can pull off. They are really talented

Billlie Love is not found dead. She just... wasn't found at all. You probably got the wrong idea because of the translation, but... "There are no marks" should IMO really be "There is no trace", like we have no clue what happened, she just disappeared... without a trace. Anyway, here's a bit (a BIT!) deeper explanation of the lore (because it is tricky having it consistent in my head :P): You heard about the fearsome monster who shows up in purple rain, on 11th day, after bell rings 11 times, and takes you to another part of the world. This happened to Billlie Love, a childhood friend of the seven girls. It seems like the girls had something to do with it, possibly summoning it; and after Billlie Love disappeared, they denied any knowledge of it, or even of her. Most of their lore-related songs seem to happen in a multiverse, around this defining moment. RINGxRING MV, specifically, shows the girls grown up, tortured by guilt, deciding to find her. I find the controversial alarm sound very deliberate, inducing anxiety in the listeners to mirror the anxiety the girls would be feeling. On the other hand, Eunoia happens, I believe, at the time of disappearance. The lore connects to the name: you have seen it in the lore video broken down to bi-11-lie. "bi" has several possible meanings: it is speculated that it could relate to 비 meaning both "rain" and "secret", but also a confirmed statement that it relates to "B-side", a hidden inner self, or another world that we all have within us. They have said 11 is a very special number for them, and again you have seen it in the lore video. And "lie" is what they did after the incident. "ginga-minga" means confusing, uncertain or dubious, or experiencing such a state; "gayo" means song. But all of their song titles are very, very odd. Sheon is pronounced like "Shaun" or "Sean", one syllable. If it was written in a standard romanisation, it would be Syeon. Her real name is Suyeon, but there are Siyoon and especially Suhyeon in the group, so to avoid confusion, she squished up her name by dropping the "u". They do not have a leader. Moon Sua is not only the oldest, but she has also been a trainee for a whopping TWELVE YEARS (10 in YG, then 2 in Mystic Story), so it would be natural for the others to look up to her experience. She is indeed a very good rapper (that YG training shows), but I am not into ranking. You can only hear snippets in their songs; try checking out the rap line's predebut cover of Haon's Boong Boong. Haram is indeed a fantastic vocalist, but I adore the subvocalist Tsuki's bell-like vocal colour. Tsuki also has an excellent comedic sense; her popularity on variety shows is not just because of her facecam. Patbingsu is totally an official release. It is on the album "track by YOON" with two songs, both covers of songs by their CEO, Yoon Jongshin. And, off topic, but you mentioned them: regarding Fifty-Fifty... by preponderance of available evidence that came to light, it was less about "business deals", and more about a subcontractor company gaslighting the girls in an attempt to steal them away from their actual company, poisoning them against talking to their CEO. There's fraud, forgery, lies and all kinds of things that I would not call "business deals". One of the girls saw through the brainwashing (finding out the subcontractor company stole her songwriting royalty share), and after begging the other members to just try to talk to their company and failing to persuade them, she dropped the lawsuit and went back by herself. She is now consequently Fifty-Fifty's sole member, with a good chance at bright future (fingers crossed), as the company speedily makes preparations for auditions to fill the group back up.

Just a little possible correction on the meaning of "GingaMingaYo": I don't think the "gayo" means song here; as correctly stated, "gin-ga-min-ga" means uncertainty, but the "yo" completes it as a phrase or sentence, as in _"It's_ uncertain". Also Yoon Jongshin isn't the _CEO_ of Mystic Story, but he is the founder, chief producer and one of the major shareholders. The CEO is Cho Youngchul. Other than that, you saved me a heck of a lot of typing... 🤣

@@Brickerbrack Maybe. Or maybe it is a pun on _both_ "song" and polite ending. I don't believe they have ever clarified.
