You’ve already made the decision put the shifter in the truck and i would sell the van over the truck any day . that van is going to be a money pit where as the trucks already been restored

I don't know much about putting a stick in a truck as a retro fit. But I think if it bolts to the tunnel tub, it should have 2 flange stiffiners/washers around the inside & underside of the cutout l, basically an inner & outer metal plate with the same cutout on them with bolt holes in them that match tge cutout on the truck. to increase the strength of the mounting structure created when you cut the area out for the shifter...
