Its upsetting to me that stupid kids don't care to learn the story behind these beloved animatronics. They were THE best animatronic band, and were so innovative for many places such as Chuck E. Cheese's animatronics, Disney Land, and other places of the sort. The creative engineer created the Whac-A-Mole, and unfortunately, they had to go out of business around the same time Arcades began to close and places like Blockbuster went bankrupt. It's truly sad how the people worked so hard on these animatronics, and everyone just says "FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S WAS REAL OMG!!" and don't appreciate how much sheer effort was put into the Rock-afire Explosion band.
@roxanne41010 жыл бұрын
We can all appreciate that there was genuine effort put into it. I've always been afraid of the animatronics since I was a child, but I always did appreciate how they were made. FNAF is really big on gaming culture right now, though. People such as myself like to solidify something that scares them in order to help satisfy the feeling of either fear or unsettlement. Lots of us do appreciate it, and you have to realize that FNAF brought more attention to these opposed to desensitizing them. I think it's rather upsetting that someone would put down so many people who genuinely enjoy these works of art in other ways other than ignoring a mainsteam game. FNAF is a genuinely good game, and people are fans. Fans do research. We actually think these are amazingly done, but relating it to a fandom we like. It's like saying we can't appreciate dragons because we like 'how to train your dragon'. *sigh*
@sp1nda10 жыл бұрын
roxanne410 Did you even read the comments on this video? They're disrespectful children who have no idea how great these creations were. Fandoms are absolutely stupid, they ruined everything I liked about Five Night's at Freddy's. The gameplay isn't intriguing in any way, it's the story behind it that makes it good. They compare these EXTREMELY innovative creations to an indie video game, that does not nearly have as much time, work, money, and effort put into it. FNaF did NOT actually bring more attention to them, it caused people to be reminded of the indie game "meme" because a popular KZbinr played it and overreacted to the jumpscares. What gave it more attention was when the actual creative engineer and a dedicated nostalgic fan bought the Rock-afire band, and began to play modern songs on them. The dragon analogy is absolutely ridiculous, by the way.

Rabid FNAF fan here. As someone who was born to late to visit Showbiz, that game was really what got me into finding out how they work and the effort put into these antique machines. Sure, the vocal part of the fan base is often nasty, but some of us genuinely appreciate the painstaking work and detail put into these animatronics: which we never would have noticed had it not been for the game. That being said, it’s kinda sad that these restaurants are going extinct and have the bad publicity about murderous animatronics: but I guess Freddy and friends are rekindling the appreciation for robotic entertainment in a good way, too.

It is these quirky animatronics that where the inspiration for that project.

I love the fact that resturant animatronics were first meant to be used so that people in costumes wouldn't have to, because of breaks and stuff. but the fact that mostly it's like, "you can control the animatronics" you would have to take breaks, right, therefore undoing the original mean. Oh, wait, that's just for manual usage.

That control panel actually looks really intuitive. You put your two hands on the circular discs, and it works kind of like a gamepad. Props to whoever came up with that design. They knew what they were doing. Reminds me of what VR controllers would later do. One flaw I can think of, though. Were the employees able to see what they were doing? Because that seems pretty important. I don't think it would be very practical to have someone control the animatronic, and have no reference as to what their movements actually look like. The only thing I can think of is to use the surveillance cameras for that. If FNaF has taught us anything, it's that these sort of establishments do indeed have a set of cameras to monitor what's going on (night guards are an actual thing too, by the way, it's to prevent the expensive machinery and the like from being stolen). Anything else would be too obvious, and break the illusion. Depends on where exactly the "control booth" is, I guess.
