"Peculiar salute" would make a great song title about those military doctors, even sounds like a 60s folk song title

"The pleasure's mine, I can assure you". What a lovely man. The story about his granddad, which was part of one of his routines, where he became the only case of scurvy in the UK is one of the funniest things I've ever heard.

many army groups had local women recruited who lived right on the same camp grounds as a regiment. i think this went on in this way for a hundred or more years. i know there were some in Nam. before that they were called camp followers - women who had no other way to live. the stories about Nam do tell more of the truth about being in combat. and we’re being told more about the horrible hand to hand fighting during the Civil War. but all the poetry, novels, and films written about the brave perfect soldiers (especially in the 1800’s), are totally made up. why the truth can’t be included, i don’t know. so this history of one of Connelly’s forebears is quite an eye opener! 🥀

Yes heat in mostly southern India and middle India. If you go to northern India is Icy cold specially near Himalayan ranges. We also have three different sea’s and desert too, mountains, rivers, lakes and snowy mountains. Don’t believe in everything you see on media. Poverty is there undeniably, thanks to colonisation where we were left at our worst. During or till 17th century India was one of the richest country or region in the world. Also there are many things you don’t know about India including we have dishes which are not completely peppery, we add at least 7-8 different species because it’s available and grown easily in our “hot and humid” climate. With more than 5000 different species of spices and medicinal plants. We Indian are also inventors of “zero” and plastic surgery and many others things but I’m still sorry if you feel all this offensive because my country being called poor and hot with indigestible food was offensive and rather distraught me because of our given 200 years of colonial history of suffering which is not even mention once in British history text books.
