Damn, I miss when people weren’t trying to sell themselves all the time and were just low-key chill like Billy there. He clearly remained grounded.

That album recorded at the Filmore East. Is one of best live albums recorded...in my opinion. Great band...the bass licks always in my my mind. The best !! I have always wondered most of my life what this band's next album would be...as I hear that bass and Jimi's voice follow through..."Who Knows" great song

The Band Of Gypsies album featured songs by both Mssrs. Hendrix and Miles, so I guess that the next album would have done too. Maybe it would have been a single album with about four songs from each of the principals mixed together. The posthumous releases like First Rays Of The New Rising Sun show Mr. H was developing Band of Gypsies' songs, and Mr. M's 1970 release was called Them Changes. How about this? 'Gypsy Rising Sun' A -Side 1- Izabella (Hendrix) 2- Heart's Delight (Miles) 3- Stepping Stone (Hendrix) 4- Runaway Child (Little Miss Nothing) (Miles) B-Side 1- Earth Blues (Hendrix) 2- EZY Rider (Hendrix) 3- Paul B. Allen, Omaha, Nebraska (Miles) 4- Hear My Train A Comin' (Hendrix)

Band of Gypsies is my all time favorite electric guitar album. Machine Gun, what can I say? Not sure why Jimi didn't like how that record turned out. I do think Jimi was better with Billy Cox than with Noel Redding, although I do think Noel got panned too much. Noel did a good job for years.

keep in mind, there was never any plan or design to turn this trio into a touring or recording act. no tour, no second album -- they knew that from day one. Billy and Buddy had a 3 month contract for a couple concerts and some studio work, nothing more than that. all along Gypsys was viewed as a short-term arrangement.

What ppl were afraid of was open minded ppl, so open that there was no such thing as social norms. No binary sexual categories, now today has gotten wild, but back then it was an evolutionary thought, because they all had orgies together, and love was a different definition than it is today. It's hard to describe artists from back then mindset to today's ppls. But it was a thing that jimi swore by, and either because his hard upbringing, ir color, then anything was better than what he experienced his earlier life with.
