Fun fact: some older folks (over 60) seem to love that stuff. I used to work in a hot wings place and had older folks order the hottest things on the menu. I'd have to do the usual "Are you sure?" speech, and they'd always tell me it was all they could taste anymore.

I can't do super hot spicy sauce or food (usually one star spice is all I can handle at restaurants) so I'll pass on the Caroline Reaper experience but it sure was fun to watch these two do it! Poor Billy and John were really struggling though. What a fascinating episode- I didn't know that peppers could help with cancer. Love learning new things. To combat excessive capsaicin dosage, swish oil or fat in the mouth without swallowing. A couple desertspoons of olive oil will do. Swish for 5 mins then spit out. The capsaicin is fat soluble. Really works

Lately I’ve been finding myself only listening to those parts of the podcasts and then turning on something else when your guest comes on. I generally like the guests but I think it should be more of an every other episode type of thing.

You can make a small slit in such peppers and pop one into your sauce and let it simmer. It will exude its essence into your sauce. Just make sure that little gray piece of pepper doesn't make it onto anyone's plate
