This is my fave Parlaphone recording. It's just so great. Top production, his vocals are beaut, I can't understand why none of the 11 singles released on this label hit the charts. 'Beyond the shadow of a doubt ' must have sold well as there are loads of copies still around.

If I didn't know that this song was released in 1967, and that Billy died 25 years ago, I'd think this was a modern song. That just shows how timeless '60s music - and Billy Fury's music - is.

Nice song by Billy, I love and prefer his rock n roll/ballad years 50s and early 60s but this is really nice. Not many artists made that leap successfully from 50s music to the mid sixties and unfortunately that included Billy Fury. Some were more fortunate Cliff Richard comes to mind, but Billy Fury was one of my favourite 50s early 60s singers, he had some cracking ballads.

I find this incredibly poignant, Billy being left behind by flower power, as so many early 60s artists were. By 1967 it had all changed. What a year, and what a song this is.

Perhaps Billy should have stuck with the quiff and worn a suit during this era, Johnny Cash did ok looking that way at the time. But he "went flower power", like Del Shannon, The Everlys touching on that territory too. Rick Nelson. They all made great records during the period though. ML They were young to fall victim to the vicissitudes of changing fashion.
