Thank u sir for writing such a beautiful song! My father would play this song as I was a young kid on a cassette player! I was maybe 7 or 8 years old at the time. I am now 35 years old and this song has always stuck with me. Me and my fathers relationship wasn't the best, but this song always brings me back to a special place. Over the years, this song has ministered to my son in a way Im mot sure I can explain. I have been a single mom...his dad has not ever invested I him. My son is a believer...and in his young adult years also a prodigal. He is 26 and was just released from prison a month ago. Faced with the difficult road ahead trying to start life over...get a job and place to stay is daunting. When he was 21 his girlfriend was underage ... although the parents approved the law did not. Now he has a record that will follow him forever, mandating where he lives where he works...even his church attendance. I have tried to encourage him as he still has his whole life ahead...but it's tough. I sent him a link this video...praying your words remind him that God has not turned away ... He has a plan for my son's that is still unfolding ...thank you for posting your songs Mr Gaines!

Never knew Sarah Gaines passed away at all. I am just finding out. She was such an inspirational singer-"Heaven's Songbird". I am so so sorry to hear of her death. My condolenses to you Billy and the family even though it's so late. I was always blessed by Sarah's unique little(big) voice. May her soul rest in peace, I know she's singing beautifully with the angels in Heaven. RIP

I had never heard this song before today; I got into my car to drive to work and felt an overwhelming need to hear the LORD speak to me but couldn't find anything to listen to. Brother Gaines, After I heard this song back in the 90's, I bought the cassette track of it and I sang it in church as a special one Sunday. I still have the cassette tape. But during the time when I sang this song, I was in my 30's and in good health. I hadn't faced much adversity from the enemy at that point. But today, 2017, I will be 58 years old in February. I have never smoked, nor I never did drugs either. I have always been in good health. But for about 15 years now, I have had a thyroid problem and it is hereditary from both sides of my family. I take a tablet per day. But my metabolism was effected and I have gained weight since it started. I am not heavy, but probably 30 lbs more than I should be. But in 2008, I lost a good paying job, and then I acquired another job that paid a lot less, but it was a job, but I lost that job after 2 years. So after losing that job, a few months later, I was contracted to paint a condo for someone. Every morning before I would start work, I would read my bible. So one day I opened my bible up and my eyes were led right to this verse: Isaiah 48:10-Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction. I didn't quite understand that verse, but when I read it, I began to weep, but didn't know why. But in 2013, Feb, I became sick. It progressed into the flu,(which I haven't had in 30 years or so), and then it turned into Bronchitis, and I had deep chest congestion and coughing worse than ever. I went to the doctor three times with this. I was on meds which didn't seem to be working. I was put on an inhaler because my breathing wasn't 100%. I was sick for well over a month and I missed more than a month of church. I literally thought I was dying. I have never been so sick in my entire life! So at one doctor visit, they X-rayed my chest, and found a mass on my left side. I was sent to get an MRI on it and thankfully God blessed me, because it was only a fat deposit and was nothing to worry about. So I finally go better, and I lost a lot of weight during the sickness, but I have gained it all back, because of this thyroid problem. But maybe a month after the sickness was gone, I got a sinus/ear infection and went on more meds. But during this, I got a constant hissing in my ears that hasn't stopped as of yet. This was back in 2013. On Labor day of 2013, my mother has a massive heart attack due to radiation weakening her heart from some cancer that was found in her lymph nodes. She died in the hospital while myself and my brother and sis in law watched right outside the door. That was totally unexpected! But then only 4 months later, my dad, that has COPD and Emphysema from smoking in his younger years, died also. We expected dad to pass away before mama, but never mama going first. Mind you, this hissing is still there. Even as I type this on Jan 9th, 2017, it is still there. But about two years ago, I was outside at night in the summer and I was praying on my driveway. There is a telephone pole at the corner of my property. That night, there was no summertime lightning at all. So I put a fleece before the Lord and asked him if he was going to heal my ears, and said, if you are, then let it lightning one time on the left side of the pole. He did it bro Gaines! Then I asked him to confirm himself as he did with Gideon, and he did that! He caused it to lightning one time on the other side of the pole! But as of today, I am still in this trial, this furnace of affliction. But today, this awesome song popped into my head once again, and I listened to it and wept and worshiped the Lord because I KNOW that on the other side of this trial that I am going through, that I will be a better man. This song speaks to many, I know that and you know that sir, but it is such a blessing to hear it, and to now, that I am in a trial right now, but all things have only a season. To everything there is a season. And I now this season of affliction will end one day. Jesus took stripes for our healing. If we go to the grave, when we are resurrected out of the graves, we will be changed into our incorrupt, immortal bodies, or if we are alive and go in the rapture, we will be instantly changed. So we won't need healing in those bodies! I believe the healing will be in our human bodies here on earth! I know this is long, but I just want you to know, how encouraged your song has made me feel. I know your message was to Mr. Gaines, but when you mentioned the hissing in your ears, please don't be alarmed. I have had the same thing going on for a few years. Around 2012 I googled "noises in ears" or something close to that, and found a website called whooshers.com. There I heard other people's testimonies about their having the same problem. I was so relieved since I had tried explaining the sensations to a nurse practitioner that my medical plan had me see instead of an MD. She made me feel like I was going out of my mind by the brush off remark she gave me. But I didn't give up, but kept doing research. A few years ago I came across (on the internet again) Pulsatile Tinnitus. I copied it and still plan on sending it to that "nurse" if she is still with the HMO where I am a member. I thank God for finding this information, because the feeling I was explaining to her was like a pulse or heartbeat in my ears. Anyway, bless God, I very rarely have it anymore but also since that time has been diagnosed with MCTD (Mixed Connective Tissue Disease) which is an auto-immune disease. I also found information on Autoimmune Inner Ear Disease. So please keep the faith, don't give up and don't stop believing that God can heal you and please don't stop search and researching even when doctors write you off. God is the Great Physician who will never write us off, and will give us the strength to stand and hope in Him when all others give up on us. May God bless you and your family.
