You can throttle them wherever you'd like.

I bought this same machine (only self propelled) but took it back / & I didn't like how it only blows ONE direction. Also: "you need the strength of a mule to engage the S.P. feature". It was a NICE NICE machine ... but just not "versatile" enough.

They really aren't that difficult to get used to. If you know exactly where you want the leaves you can sure move them there quicker than you could with a backpack. The chute is helpful too, allowing you to direct the air up and down. Some even have a rubber piece that mounts to the chute to direct air forwards, as this one in the video has.

Unfortunately I was only able to afford the 9 hp. It’s OK, but with the size of my yard I need to wear a backpack with and push the damn thing at the same time. The one I want is about $2200

The 13 has a lot more air debit. The 8 is a good machine but often you can get desapointed with the 8 hp because inconsciously when you push a walk behind blower it is never enough power.
