Dredlocks are a part of Billy Idol's past. He wasn't imitating anyone. It was a statement. It has meaning. He earned the right to wear them. They are an Afrocentric thing..see Bob Marley who was an early influence in Idol's life. Actually, he looked pretty hot in them. Different strokes though.
