Billy Joe is a legend, he don't deserve all these dislikes. You give him more stick for not fighting GGG in his first defense than Canelo. I said after the Eubanks fight he had the best chance at beating GGG and everyone said I was crazy. He is such a tricky fighter to box, always moving and making things awkward, added to the fact his best ability is counter punching. In my opinion GGG would win, but it wouldn't go all his way like the Murray or Lemieux fight

I REALLY respected this guy but to sit there and say if it was his son and he thought the other person's life was in danger he would pull him out is an absolute fucking joke !!! how can you honestly KNOW that? no one deserves that to happen to them but you cant bring up Eubank Snr's name like he should have done something? the FUCKING REFEREE and Nick's own corner didn't even think he was in THAT much danger as he was. Nick was laughing when Eubank was landing the shots in previous rounds, I personally didn't think that he was hurt as badly as he was but the referee SHOULD have stopped that fight a couple of rounds before, nick was being hit at times and not hitting back, Eubank was tee'ing off with everything he had at times. twice the ref could have stopped it and didn't. but the truth is, Nick didn't ever look rocked or hurt badly until that massive lump appeared above his eye, I personally thought maybe he had a broken orbital bone when I first seen it but I had no idea how severe the injury actually was. no one did until the ref stopped it and the boy collapsed.

Even if English was worried about a bad decision, i still believe he was genuinly concerned about Nick blackwell's health as well. He even said "1 he's getting hurt..." and he had been banging on the canvas to try and stop the fight. I also don't believe for one moment what Billy Joe said about pulling out of a fight if you genuinly fear for the opponents life. In the heat of the moment your goal is to win at any cost and pulling out would be a no contest (?). Not gonna happen. So yes it probably was a standard fight tactic of senior but don't assume there was no compassion there too with that advice. Chris jr was clearly winning for all to see anyway. Saunders just hates the Eubanks.

From his last few fights i've learned a couple of things, bringing the fight to Eubank doesn't work, you have to box him like Saunders did, not stand and trade with him. Eubank Snr was 100% worried it would go to a decision and lose to a controversial decision. He said '1) Blackwell is hurt 2) If this goes to a decision, why would the referee do that, perhaps you shouldn't let it go to the judges, but target the body because you won't stop him to the head. Snr could see his son had hit him with head shots all night & didn't look like stopping him, body shots were the only way to stop him.

I have to say that I agree that Eubank Snr was mainly concerned about getting a wrong decision. I was watching thefight at home and I kept saying to me gf 'this fight is closer on the scorecard than you think'. Afterall Scott Quigg won on one judges card against Frampton and Canelo got a draw on a judges scorecard agaist Floyd even though both copped plenty of shots in their fights. Eubank was right not to trust the judges. I truly believe nobody thought Blackwell was seriously hurt and thankfully the doctor pulled him out and even that was for his eye. I remember Morales had an even worse eye against Maidana and the ref let it carry on.

I've always thought boxing should be classed as more of a western martial art than a sport, though I agree with most of what Saunders says here. Yes, the purpose of a boxing contest is to impose yourself physically on the opponent, using what basically amounts to a form of controlled violence, but what happened to Nick Blackwell was an accident, and probably not the last one we'll see. And yes, while the Eubanks might certainly care about Blackwell's current plight, I totally agree that Eubank Sr.'s comments during the contest were tactical and NOT out of compassion for the opponent. That's not intended as a pop at Eubank or his son - they might well be good people - but the amount of people claiming some sort of Nostradamus ability to predict the future and inherent wisdom after the event is embarrassing. We've all cheered fighters who've given their all during titanic battles and thought nothing of what they've endured when they go home in one piece (Gatti, Benn, Froch, etc.). I get the impression some people are trying to hide their guilt by pretending they hold the moral high-ground.

i think the ref should of stoped the fight 2 rounds earlier, i thought the comentators were watching a different fight nick was taking far to much punishment and throwing the occasional punch back, the commentators made it sound like it was an even fight. watch the fight again from about the sixth round onwards and listen to the commentators change there opinion once they had herd chris seniors coments, like them or loath them i think chris eubank senior was right.

BJS is not a huge draw and struggles to sell hence he needs big opponents...there is a reason he keeps mentioning Eubank Jr...BJS made small money fighting at British and European level and for his world title fight sold 3000 tickets...Frank may pay BJS a big purse but will do at a loss and cannot keep doing this...You see how frustrated Frank was when they have put the fight to Eubank Jr twice before as they know they need him to generate the big purses needed and Frank can make money on the show..BJS wants it on the undercard of Fury Klitscko as they know with that it generates the money to make money...BJS headlining shows without big opponents loses Frank Warren money guaranteed...Don't be surprised the Eubank Jr fight gets made as its him that brings the money on the show make it ppv too and Frank makes money as opposed to losing money on the show

Watched this fight and I thought Blackwell was taking some punishment, he's a very tough lad but eubank was hitting him with uppercut after uppercut and was a class above on the night,I hope Blackwell recovers from this and if he does ( hope so ) I can't see him fighting again. It is NOT 'only a sport', this is Eubank Jr's job - he gets paid to destroy guys if he has to! This guy is just hating on his rival. Injuries happen, boxing is not chess; this is a physical, at times gruesome sport. Accidents will keep happening(albeit at a much lower rate than say....50 years ago). That's one of the things that makes this sport so compelling to watch!

I like Billy Joe, even thou he cost me on both the Eubank Jr and Andy Lee fight. He is not perfect, but who is?. However, deep down he is straight and has backed up everything he has said, with his ability. Who can blame him for holding out for a risk = reward deal and not fight GGG, just yet! He is a family man who has priorities to look after his family, first and foremost. Not satisfy fight fans who want to see him put to the sword, and slaughtered against GGG. Let him enjoy his reign as champion and make a few decent notes, in the process. Cannot fault the guy, personally.

The way BJS was going the other night and keeps going is only giving Eubank Jr fuel... he is so dedicated and ferocious as it is...yes BJS is a seasoned boxer but he will not keep Eubank Jr off him in a 12 round fight now if they fight again Eubank Jr is so busy and throws eye catching shots he beats BJS easily....BJS survived the last rounds evading shots well but still being caught Eubank jr has improved which was always going to happen...I'd put money on Eubank Jr in the rematch damn he has too much spite and too busy for BJS.

Eubank Jr would win a rematch against Billy Joe hands down. Eubank Jr gave away the first 6 rounds because of nerves (his first big fight), then dominated the rest of the fight, including a final round he almost knocked him silly. Eubank is a far superior fighter at the present time.

Personally i dont think there was a point in that fight that is should of been stopped up until it was stopped. Blackwell caught alot of them punches on the gloves, had his hands up all fight and punching back. I totally agree with what BJS says here.
