Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

Absolutely. He's definitely at the top of the list as far as under rated country artist, with Townes or Jerry Reed a close second in my opinion. It's amazing how much incredible talent came out of only a few decades.

Eddie could play like a man possessed. He could bend 'em as well as Duane Eddy. He could play intricate, fast or slow. Eddie had something I'll call "feel" because he could feel what was needed and go there. I can't imagine Billy's loss when Eddie passed. He is now with him, but thankfully we have great musical memories of songs, videos, and certain times in our lives connected through what Billy Joe gave us.

You can show me a million musicians that are more “technically proficient” but not one of them will be as expressive or have as much personality on stage as this man. Any live footage you see of him you can tell he’s doing what he loves.There will never be a songwriter of equal talent.
