I have ALWAYS wondered about that staccato idea. Good on the reporter for asking about that. Very memorable. Although, to be honest, the producer or engineer at the time SHOULD have been able to do what Billy was asking for. Much as those guys got paid by the labels for their studio expertise. I would’ve fired the guy the moment he said he couldn’t do it. It’s like “what are we paying YOU for, then?”

Love the song, a good song writer is a good story teller and Billy really paints a great picture with his songs. I always thought the sound of the engine pulling out at the end was a motorbike, most likely a Harley? Well I learned something new
