The piano riff at the end is classic ! Why is Billy Joel not given the respect he deserves? Seriously, this guy has made so many great songs that are enjoyable time after time, and his lyrics are clear and relevant. We need a Billy Joel musical movie like Mamma Mia, or a biopic done right(not like rocketman). I could help write the screenplay.
@isthatchrisk4 жыл бұрын
Lol not given the respect he deserves?? Pretty sure he is one of the most respected musical icons there has been...
@mattrobledo48713 жыл бұрын
@@isthatchrisk I think he means, it’s a shame he’s not an icon like Freddie Mercury, Elton John, or David Bowie, despite that he’s just as, if not more talented than them (at least more talented Elton). And the sad truth is because, he never felt the need to present himself as more than he is. He’s just a guy. No elaborate showmanship, not an abundance of lights and costumes. He’s just a New Yorker, who performs his songs. Without having to do all that. Which makes him more talented, at the expense of losing some iconography
@mattrobledo48713 жыл бұрын
I think why Queen works is because it’s not all just Freddie Mercury, there’s input on all ends, but Freddie being the most lively, is what sold their music. Elton John had a lyricist, which made all of his songs 1/2 of him. So to compensate for the other half he’d do all the costumes and lights so that he’s performing his music in the most personal way possible. Billy Joel never wrote anything that didn’t come from the heart, therefore he was the most genuine and needed only to share that with his audience, and because of how genuine he was, the music spoke for itself and entertained because the man behind it was clearly all in it. That’s what makes Billy Joel so special
