"Outsiders inside the home that we built" What a brilliant line. So many people have lived this song and its just heart breaking. What a song. What a fabulous song.

Best version I've heard of this song so far. I'm glad he played around with the verse towards the end and sang it in a higher key. It sounded great!

I like that word evolving. I like the full band version better, plus an intro is nice too!

The thing about Billy, is he protects his voice at concerts, so he can go do another concert and sound half decent. I have seen him 3 times now, but if you watch him in some exclusive interviews where he performs he can still hit the notes. He has been tuning it down for years now. Either way I’m happy that he is putting out new work. I have always felt like he has still something to say, whether we get an angry old man or grumpy old man lol.

Fantastic concert at RayJay. He mentioned this was the second time he had done this piece live. Assume the other was the Grammys. Great tune.

Technically was 3rd time, but he considered that a "TV audience" not fully live... ck his MSG debut...!! kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5Ddep2cr916f68si=AXkRc2mL5w8bVKZT

He really needs to ditch the autotune for any future recordings. I understand that he's self conscience about his diminished range, but seriously his natural (flawed) voice is infinitely better than the official processed commercial release. Just OWN it BILLY!!!

AGREE! Terrible what they did on the recording. So much better raw.

It was the Producer’s decision. Wexler is used to working with artist that use pitch correction. Billy said on the Howard Stern show that he doesn’t need it!

@@howtodoitdude1662 but isn't it somehow strange, that an established and experienced musician like Billy Joel is agreeing with this kind of esthetic?
@dannyfox-billyjoelfan99339 ай бұрын
There was no autotune, just pitch correction.

I'm definitely not a fan of autotune, and I'm pretty sensitive to the artifacts and unnaturalness of it. If there is full autotune on the studio track, it doesn't bother me. Live it does always seem to take him a full verse to get it in key though...

@@前橋みき music is a subjective matter. I didn’t mean it literally. If you watched Billy’s recent interview by Howard Stern you know he kept paying for the band through inactive Covid years. Obviously they are all very close.

@@AkuV1 he learnt how badly he treated his real band who created all the music we love ❤️ today! The band he has now are simply hired hands who never created his music 🎵 his real band liberty etc have there own band! Sad 😢 I think!
