Yes. All the discovery channel type shows eventually get turned into scripted bits or family drama - ala the Tuttles (which actually stressed me out, my own childhood memories of screaming matches 😆)... It's refreshing to just learn about and watch the project at hand.

I love your videos, because you actually show yourself working on the bike. It's not edited so that it looks easy or clean. I work on my motorcycle all the time and it can be a pain in the ass, and messy. As a former avionics technician on F/A-18 Hornets, I really enjoy your professionalism dealing with the electrical components.

It does my heart good to see electrical instruction videos where NO shortcuts are taken! Far too many people who decide to educate the world through a YT video will use a couple of crimp-on butt connectors and call that good. Not Mr. Lane! Not only using solder, but staggering the connectors is very smart. Way too many cars or bikes have melted and burned up their wiring harness from two butt connectors, side by side, positive and ground, then half a$$ed wrapped in black tape, and after some rough roads, not to mention all the vibrations, then it's not if, but WHEN they come apart from a simple crimp, there goes the wiring harness, if not starting a fire and burning your ride down. Billy is showing how it truly needs to be done!

Please do not stop talking about how things work. It really sets your channel apart. When I was a kid I literally learned all my mechanical basics from the "How things work" column Hot Rod magazine did in the 1990's. My mechanic knowledge is exclusively cars. I've learned more in the past 2 months about Harleys than I ever knew. Hell after your one video I'd feel pretty comfortable lowering a softtail. Also i LOVE you work on bikes that are being ridden and used not trailer queens. love seeing the wear and tear

I used to love watching you build bikes on Biker Build Off, your bikes have such a nice style, stance and proportions!Rather than use two hammers, I use a knurled 3 inch long piece of 1 inch brass bar. It doesn’t leave any witness marks and it’s small enough to get in tight spaces to be used to tap awkward items.

Crazy to look back and think about what we were doing at that time in the past. I was a young child in probably elementary school watching biker build off with my father and remember both of us just in awe at the hubless bike. I remember the whole lotta Rosie bike with the triple chain primary that was eating your pant legs and the time your bike caught on fire on the road too haha. Loving blue, but the badboy is probably still my favourite due to my love of the night train but im a simplistic bloke. Your wealth of knowledge, whilst being open, humble and giving to the public is unfathomable, and the way you articulate the skills and tricks to the average person to aid in building a new generation to love bikes and to modify things themselves is incredible. Especially in a world were most would charge via patreon or something in order to learn alot of these things. Really shows a mans character, when its done for the love of it rather than for financial gain. Kudos Billy, great respect. Side note. Not sure 100% on blues build from top to bottom, but im assuming you have some form of rubber isolation mount between engine and frame atleast? That should technically help prevent the engine mount bolts from backing themselves out.
