Texas is confident because they have 2 1st draft picks at the QB postion. One of them is returning for his third year and we all know Arch is the backup but he could have started this year. I don’t know of a school that has 2 first round QBs on their roster right now outside of Texas. Oregon and Ohio St are probably 2nd and 3rd.

Saban recounted. "Our program here was always built on how much value can we create for your future and your personal development, academic success in graduating and developing an NFL career on the field.” “So I'm saying to myself, 'Maybe this doesn't work anymore, that the goals and aspirations are just different and that it's all about how much money can I make as a college player?' I'm not saying that's bad. I'm not saying it's wrong, I'm just saying that's never been what we were all about, and it's not why we had success through the years." - Nick Saban

Football has always been about the money for universities. Now players are being criticized for prioritizing the best interests of themselves and their families. Its the players who use their special talent and do some of the most intense physical labor to generate millions in revenue for universities, advertizers, tv networks etc. Football players often suffer life altering injuries to limbs, brain and other organs. One percent of college players go pro. Some players receive a scholarship to go to school and get a degree, but a scholarship doesn't guarantee a degree, and degree doesn't guarantee of a living wage.
