glad to find this. I got this kit recently, expecting the instructions to be clearer through pictures then they were. I can read a little Japanese but not enough to complete this kit without a video like this to show more of the steps.There are some details I might have accidentally skipped otherwise. I'm enjoying the process so far. though it'll probably take me multiple weeks to build

I actually bought this kit in Tokyo this spring- thank goodness for this video, as the instructions are all in Japanese! (and are way too lengthy for google translate). I will say that my kit has none of the adhesive strips depicted here, and so far it is also missing a few pieces (some smaller wooden ones and others)... so it is a challenge for sure, but the video has helped tremendously.

I think they add stuff like the extra taps and things to keep the video down. It makes it toff to put some of those kits together with no instructions, that is why I buy aot of my kits from a site called WISH. If you have a problem they are right on top of things and the Japanese or China store owners take great pride and rightfully so in their stores and customer service, they work to make things right. I've used WISH for like two years now & maybe had 3 slight problems and they took care of them and one time I ripped off for $100. where I bought a set of Morgan Dollars & somehow my order was 'lost'. The people at WISH took care of the problem & that store owner can no longer advertise on WISH. But you can't beat the products & prices, although sometimes shipping costs have to be dealt with and the waiting time to ship but if you went to a store you'd be paying way more.

hello!!! I know its been a year! But did you finish it? did you find the missing pieces? mine has missing pieces too :(
@ashleywalters303194 жыл бұрын
Paula hi! I ended up recreating my missing pieces with toothpicks, etc. I did finally finish it (minus the ground texturing, which I didn’t like the look of and seemed too much trouble). The eel shop ended up being really beautiful though, so I’m glad I did! Good luck to you - it’s worth it :)

Was tempted to buy this kit while vacationing in Japan. But, the store did not have this one for sale, only a built-up display model. I bought #8852 instead. While watching this video, the technique of making the paving stones is absurdly complicated and messy, and has too many possibilities for making mistakes and ruining the kit. It's much easier to make paving stones from egg cartons. Paint the egg carton, seal it with clearcoat, trim it into small rectangles, glue them on the base, about 1/16" apart. Then use lightweight spackling paste to grout in between the stones. Dye the grout with diluted acrylic paint. Then, place the building on top of the paving stones.
