I'm only at 1:48 and listening to him made me remember this: Many years ago I worked as a phone sex operator; and one day I got a call from a man that was "trans" (gender/sexual, I don't recall). But this man called the 1-800 phone sex line just so he could have someone to talk to. He obviously had no friends and no family. He was alone in this world, with no one to talk to about his fears, joys, dreams, goals, burdens, etc., except a 22 years old stranger working hundreds of miles away from where he lived. Whenever I see a gay man these days, I thank the Universe that male can live in his truth. That he doesn't have to hide in his NYC apartment and chat with a stranger in Los Angeles (because that's the only person he can talk to while speaking at 1.99 per minute). he likely has his own friends and a supportive family. I can't talk shit about a man for celebrating his existence and embracing himself. I sometimes wonder what ever happened to that man in NYC. Did he finally begin living his truth? Did he ever find friends? Did his family ever come to accept him? Or did he die alone with no one to say good-bye to. I cannot make a guy feel bad because of who he is at his core. And I'd hate to make a person feel horrible about themselves simply because I couldn't accept them as they are. Change begins with you.

I know this is hard to believe. 1. You can be gay AND black. 2. Hating gay ppl is just as prejudiced as being hated for being black. 3. Many black ppl you don't accept are fighting for you whether you like it or not. The End.

#2 is a NOT...folks need to stop comparing the gay struggle to the black struggle. Gay folks (mostly white) get talk about for their sexual preference ( that you choose to come out about). Black folks built a country for FREE and were KILLED for wanting to become equal and guess what this country still doesn't treat us equal (my black skin doesn't have the option to come out of the closet).
@ChrissyMissy87
@ChrissyMissy87 5 жыл бұрын
@@jclef614Mostly gay people are white? Clearly you don't know the meaning of preference because if you did you'd know being Gay is not one. So yes, being prejudice towards Gays is just bad as being prejudice towards black ppl. You know why? Because you can't choose either. Did you choose to be straight or you just were naturally attracted to the opposite sex?? See how that works. Same for Gay ppl.
@onevoice4894
@onevoice4894 5 жыл бұрын
V4Vonnie WHAT!? The only thing hard to believe is that someone would write such nonsense and other clowns would co-sign it 🤦🏾‍♂️ 1. No one ever said that you can’t be gay and black at the same time, the problem is that way too many black gays put their sexual preference before their race when no other members of the LGBTQ do that and certainly NOT to align with black gays unless it benefits them. No other race of gays talks that intersectional bullshit other than blacks out of desperation to be accepted by others who have zero interests in intersecting with you. 2. Don’t ever compare the plight, vitriol and hate that black people have endured over the past 500 years simply for being black to who some dude wants to stick his dick in or some stud wants to eat out her pussy. Most of the laws and acts of hate targeted towards blacks people have been perpetrated by whites straight and gay. At no time in history has there EVER been acts of oppression towards gays anywhere near the scale of the transatlantic slave trade, Jim Crow, Red lining, mass-incarceration committed against people specifically because of who they have sex with and for anyone to say anything otherwise is disingenuous and disrespectful. 3. “Many black people you don’t accept are fight for you”... who’s YOU?? As I said, too many black gays place their sexual preference over their race.. FACT! When you do this you can’t possibly be placing the same sense of urgency on justice and liberation for black people as you do for acceptance from “others” in the LQBTQ community, when the very people you are looking to intersect with are some of the biggest perpetrators of injustice towards black people and have been for centuries. By definition that’s impossible.
