Amen to music being free in schools!! I'm in the UK and when I was in primary school (late 70s, early 80s) music tuition was free. Not only that, but school instruments were lent out for free as well. Now music lessons are so expensive that only the well off can afford them. Music is truly a life skill; once you've learnt, it'll always be with you, even if you change instruments.

That's not what he said, it's was about the music industry as a whole should invest time and money in music at a school level (because it's in the best interest for them) much like Intel or Apple do in education. Industry supporting industry and not government handouts (like the UK). So don't twist peoples words for your political agenda.
