My favorites. I also like the jerseys in the Barry era. The ones now are garbage.

Some of this music 0:09 to 0:23 is similar to Quincy Jones IRONSIDE police drama theme song starring the Late Raymond Burr.

The famous Billy Sims high-step. He used to do it during pre-game introductions too.

I don't have the link, but if you you tube Phillies return to baseball after 9-11 Kalas has a very emotional narration that is phenomenal. He says 'the cradle of liberty' as there is an aerial view of Center City Philadelphia.

I thought Billy Sims was a better RB than Barry Sanders but Barry always kept himself in shape.

both were special players, #20 for Lions has been worn by some greats Lem Barney, Sims and Sanders.

I LOVED Sims when I was in elementary school. I had pictures of him on my notebooks, sang 'Another One Bites the Dust' all the time, and followed the Lions religiously. I remember being heartbroken that the Lions didn't win more, and even more so when Billy got hurt over and over and ended up retiring MUCH earlier than he should have. He was SO damn good, but he could have been SO MUCH better.

Sims was the more versatile back. Strong, fast, could block and receive. Could have played in any offense. Barry was just unique, and you had to play to that.

He was the Michael Jordan of football cuz he made average players play better around him

A great day for running backs, with Walter Payton also having some memorable runs and going over 100 yards. Alas, the Lions would go on to lose this game, after blowing a 17-3 lead, when the Bears returned the opening kickoff of OT for a touchdown. Kind of the story of this sad season when the Lions had a 4-0 start and then went 5-7 the rest of the way to miss the playoffs to the Vikings on a tiebreaker.
