As someone who was skeptical when first hearing Afraid of Heights and Louder than the DJ, I now understand this album. I was expecting a track-to-track anthemic album like their first three albums, but this album seems to tell more of a story in an a way almost similar to an opera. I heard the album a week or so ago when it leaked and was blown away. This album felt unexpected on first listen, but a similar unexpectant feeling that green day fans felt when american idiot came out. It's an album that moves in a different direction, yet Billy Talent does it in their own way, once again.

For me this song is so inspiring. It conveys such a strong emotion for me, like so few other pieces of music are capable of. "...to never be afraid of heights again" is such a strong way of articulating comitment. Even if you fall, even if you will maybe hit the ground and burst into pieces, you go on and keep it going. What else can you do really? Atleast if you want to get anything worthwhile in life.... So rather keep your comitment going and explore new hights, you cannot afford to look down and evaluate how the way down would be anyways. You cannot afford to be caputured by insignificant things and lose focus, at least not up there. Not leaving the ground will be the same thing as falling anyways - so do yourself a favor and be not afraid of heights.

Lyrics: Wherever I go, wherever I go I have to question the hand that I hold close Wherever I go, wherever I go I have to silence the words that you fear most Don't ever let go, don't ever let go Are we destined to hit the ground below? Don't ever let go, don't ever let go We're at the end of a burning tightrope Now I'm waiting on the corner in the back of your mind It's a lonely place to live, and I got nowhere to hide 'Cause you told me that you'd never be afraid of heights again Nobody ever thought that we could make it this high You're the only one I'd follow 'til the end of time If we fall, we fall together baby, don't think twice again Together I know, together I know That we'd burn like a rocket's afterglow Together I know, together I know We could conquer the stars beyond this world We let it all go, we let it all go I'm just a voice on a broken radio We let it all go, we let it all go We got lost in the constellations Now I'm waiting on the corner in the back of your mind It's a lonely place to live, and I got nowhere to hide 'Cause you told me that you'd never be afraid of heights again Nobody ever thought that we could make it this high You're the only one I'd follow 'til the end of time If we fall, we fall together baby, don't think twice again And after all these years, and all of this time Darling, if I'm still a question in your mind Just say the words and this will end You told me that you'd never be afraid of heights You told me that you'd never be afraid of heights You told me we should never be afraid of heigths again You told me that you'd never be afraid of heights again You told me that you'd never be afraid of heights again If we fall, we fall together baby, don't think twice again Wherever I go, wherever I go I hear your voice on a broken radio Wherever I go, wherever I go I know we'll burn like a rocket's afterglow Don't ever let go, don't ever let go Are we destined to hit the ground below? Don't ever let go, don't ever let go Are we just watching the final chapter close?

Ben would be such a great actor. Whenever I see their music video, you can mute freaking music and just from looking at his facial expression and gestures you could tell what song is about, whether it's sad or happy. While 90% of singers just stand there in front of mic in mucis videos, staring at camera, Ben is so into it, he's basically acting in their videos and that's what 90% of other singers can't do. I wish I could see him on stage.

So.. Can we talk about that music video? I’m sure it has some pretty deep symbolism but the band has never come out and spoken about it.. Other than explaining the song itself, being about relationships and commitment. So the video is a very stark contrast to what the actual song is about. And what’s with those towering monoliths, scattered throughout the video? It actually raises more questions than it does answers.
