Billy West is honestly one of the all time greatest voice actors to master the craft. He’s so seamless when he transitions characters, he makes it look so easy

Its bc hes switching between a character voice and basically his normal voice. Billy West was famous for auditioning for Fry with his real voice so if he got the part itd be harder to replace him bc its easier to imitate a character voice than an average persons speech. This was basically proven when they tried to recast bender in the recent renewal.

watch some of the vanity fair pieces with voice actors. nancy cartwright was a good watch, she can slip in and out of voices like that too and make minor tweaks on the fly while explaining exactly what she's doing. There was a dialogue teacher who also did a piece where she slipped between accents much the same way. Some people are very talented with their voices, almost all of the futurama and simpsons cast.

I went to the first AwesomeCon where Billy West and Phil Lamarr were on a panel about voice acting. Billy mentioned that there was a Futurama episode where it was about 10 minutes of Fry, Professor, and Zoidberg arguing, so essentially 10 minutes of him doing all 3 voices. Phil said he'll always remember that as one of the greatest feats of voice acting he's ever seen.
