Here’s some fun facts about The Lion King. Though some of you already know them. -In the early stages of production it was under several different titles; King of Kalahari, King of Beast and most notably King of the Jungle. -Rafiki was originally gonna be a cheetah. -It was originally gonna be a war between lions and baboons. -Johnathon Taylor Thomas from Home Improvement plays Young Simba. -Matthew Broderick who plays Adult Simba, previously played in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. -The Mufasa’s ghost scene wasn’t originally gonna be in the movie but they decided to add it so Simba gets motivated to return to the Pride Lands. - Tim Curry was originally gonna play Scar. -Mufasa was originally gonna have a song called “Mighty King of the Wild”. -James Earl Jones & Madge Sinclair (Sarabi) previously played in the Eddie Murphy movie “Coming to America”. - Some of the characters are named after a Swahili word. Like for instance, Simba means lion, Nala means gift, Sarabi means mirage, Shenzi means savage, Pumbaa means stupid or silly and Rafiki means friend.

It doesn't matter how many times I've seen this movie, the scene where Simba finds Mufasa dead in the gorge always gets me in the heart. Especially the fact that Scar gaslights Simba into thinking it was his (Simba's) fault and Jonathan Taylor Thomas' line delivery. Also, I am very glad they cast James Earl Jones as Mufasa. As much as I respect the actor, they almost cast Christopher Walken. Side note: Some of the character's names have meanings translated out of Swahili Simba: Lion Nala: Gift Mufasa: King Sarabi: Mirage Rafiki: Friend Pumbaa: Slow-Witted Zazu: Movement Shenzi: Savage Banzai: Skulk or lurk Taka (Scar's original name): Dirt or Garbage Timon (His name actually comes from Greek): Respect or Honor

Be Prepared is my favorite. Jeremy Irons himself, the voice of Scar, sang the song, but because he later was having vocal issues, Jim Cummings, (voice actor in many other animated films/shows, he's Ed the looney hyena in this movie,) provides the rest of the singing at the middle of the song when he says: "You wouldn't get a sniff without me!"

Because of Lion King EVERY PARENT does the circle of life baby lift
@Nancydrew3015 күн бұрын
20:34 Well, one, this is a disney movie and if the parent isn't already dead, they will be within the first half hour. In Frozen's case? Ten, fifteen minutes? Two, I think he had already been hit by this time, plus had run full tilt towards the stampede to be here for Simba at all. Then had to run to get to his son down there. There was a healthy dose of panic at that point and pain. His thought was probably just "grab son and get to safety." I don't know if he would have had the strength to keep running with his son while injured for however long it would have taken the scared stampede to calm down while still being instigated from the back to keep going until at least Mufasa was dead (Scar is still watching) or found somewhere to climb up together with his son. He tried twice to find the latter and failed. First time at least got his son up to safety, but only because neck strength for days, but he was batted away before he could climb up himself. Then the second time.....well....he might have made it that time but by then he was already struggling to climb too. Scar just did no helping.
