fun fact: chris tucker was very close friends with michael jackson and was one of the only people truly by his side during the allegations/trials. they even "performed" together a little on stage one time lol. chris still has so much respect for him so that's why in all the rush hours there's always some reference to him (leg kicks, songs, jokes, etc), and chris tells a story about michael in pretty much every comedy show he does 🫶🏻

Michael's relationship with kids wasn't ok but it's crazy to me more peoole don't know it was pretty much definitively proven false that he ever preyed on them. Everyone adult who accused him was proven to wrong, the kids who were implicated all came forward and said that it didn't happen or later retracted their statements as adults, saying that they were pressured by their parents to lie to police about what happened. It's pretty messed up. He definitely had kids in his house without parental supervision, he definitely occasionally slept in the same bed with them, that's not something that is 100% ok. But we know that he didn't pull any R Kelly's and the parents who brought the charges would serve their kids up to him, then have FBI waiting for the kids when they got home to question if any abuse happened.

I love Ziyi Zhang (Hu Li) in this movie. She plays a villain so well, rocks a red lipstick, and makes a great femme fatale. She was also great in Godzilla: King Of The Monsters as Dr. Ilene Chen and Ling Chen. One of my favorite comedic parts: Carter: Just tell me how the Triads gon' kill us. Lee: They will torture us for three days. Carter: I can handle that. Lee: Then they will cut off our eggrolls. Carter: Cut off our eggrolls? Hell no! Let's get the hell outta here! Side note: Michael Jackson watched this movie around the time he was planning out his short film for the song "You Rock My World" and contacted Chris Tucker for a guest starring role and Chris stated in interviews that Michael told him "I've seen your movie Rush Hour 2, you're kickin' with the wrong leg".

Also Jackie didn't like Chris at first because he was always late on the set, because of that Chris didn't want to disappoint Jackie again and showed his professionalism. That's how they became really good friends and have respect for each other. Can't wait to see their chemistry again in RH4 😆

As effed up as some of the humor is, they made the Rush Hour movies with Jackie as Lee and Chris as Carter as the two main leads for 1) to finally have a movie with two minorities as the lead and not as sidekicks and 2) to heal some of the racism between both communities against eachother which I didn’t know about and find wild. I grew up on this franchise and I forgot how bad some of these lines are- especially Jackie’s. He came out saying he geninuely had no idea what he was saying half the time cause he didn’t understand or some of the words didn’t translate properly to Chinese so he was really just talking to talk 😂 idk how they’re gonna make a 4th movie cause no way they can even do 1/16th of this humor now a days.

Rush Hour is my favourite trilogy and I really hope you do the third one. I actually went to the cinema to see that when it came out and I came out crying with laughter. They're just such feel good films and I love watching them and your reactions are great. My favourite part is that they give us some of the bloopers in the credits and that Chris forgets and calls Jackie by his real name instead of his character's name. There are more bloopers on the DVDs and they're all hilarious

The scene where Chris tries to speak Cantonese to the girls in the car and Jackie translated it was correct about "getting naked and sacrificing a goat." The scene where Chris tries to speak Cantonese again to the triads and ugly women etc at the karaoke bar was actual Cantonese and it was something along the lines of "telling everybody to go home and go to bed/sleep" to which Jackie's translation to Chris later was about samurai swords which was completely off on Jackie's end. I think Chris was trying to speak actual Cantonese and low key got with a translator for that scene while Jackie was just trying to read his lines given to him by the writers to make that scene funny. Finally, that scene where Chris was pointing fingers at Kenny/War Machine after they found out the money was fake, was all jibberish; it's not Chinese or Cantonese which was why Kenny and Jackie had that weird look on their faces like WTF???. I think that scene was shot early in production of the movie and Chris was probably new to learning Cantonese.

@@Regmuslima as my friend pointed out, Lee has very strong sense loyalty which is a strength but as we see in this movie with Ricky Tan and with the villain in the next movie, he has a tendency to not want to hurt people from his past even if they turn out to be corrupt, he hesitates to come to terms with that betrayal because he doesn’t want to think that these people from his past would betray him and so when he ends up having to go against them, he’s noticeably gutted.

Me and one of my close friends are literally Carter and Lee or Jackie and Chris if you will. He’s Vietnamese and I’m mixed but predominantly black and we make racist jokes to each other all the time. I’m not the type to get overly offended so this movie was always funny to me, intent matters. This movie was my childhood and I might still have it on dvd. The crazy woman in black is such a versatile actress, she can go from the softest sweetest precious baby to full blown insane murderess. Love her!
