Even though I have already come to Christ, I still love Mr. Graham’s messages. I still remember watching him on television when I was about four or five with my baby sitter Eldrid. She was a wonderful Christian woman. When Mr. Graham gave the invitation and people came forward I asked, “ What are they doing?” Eldrid explained that they were giving their lives to Christ.

@@matthiashorn7217 have you seriously researched the claims of Christianity? The historical evidence, archaeological evidence, Biblical apologetics, etc that backs it up? I wasn't raised as a Christian, so I was never indoctrinated as you put it, and when I was drawn to the faith, I undertook a rigorous investigation into the faith because I didn't want to believe in a delusion. It stands up to intellectual scrutiny - you don't have to abandon your logical mind when you give your life to Jesus. And once you do surrender all of yourself to Christ, you enter into a profound relationship with Him who made you and loves you deeply. We live in a post-Christian, post-Modern world. We are all indoctrinated to some degree by the presuppositions we have; because we grew up with them, we don't realise they are not our own thoughts. Today, the idea of God is seen as archaic & antiquated, and believers are dismissed as superstitious and believers in fairytales. We dismiss our consciousness, which makes us distinct from the rest of creation, as a leftover of some evolutionary drive, or as an illusion. The very words "sin," "judgement," and "guilt make us scoff- as if a God of love could be judgemental. He is holy. There is a price to pay for our sins. Yet He took our punishment upon Himself. Friend, He sees right into you, despite your unbelief. He will never force Himself upon you: He gave us free will, and He respects your free will to embrace or disregard Him. Please ask yourself: what if Christianity is true? And, have you researched it deeply enough to say that you categorically disbelieve it on well founded grounds? I say this with deep compassion, because there are many who will not spend a joyous eternity with Him because they didn't take seriously the claims Jesus made about Himself. Nor will they experience, in this life, the peace of God which transends all human understanding. He sees you, knows you, loves you and calls you by name. This is a topic that needs to be preached more in churches. People need to realize how much Jesus loves them, that they want to do what it takes to make it to heaven and avoid hell.

No, it's a topic that needs to be consigned to it's mythological past. The notion of hell came from other cultures. Jesus used stories of hell simply to illustrate how bad sin was. Sin doesn't lead to eternal torment, it leads to suffering and misery on earth. The real hell is the one we create around us. Worrying about eternal punishment is ignoring Christs message. Christ taught us to love one another, to serve one another. To put other people ahead of ourselves. Believing something because of the idea of eternal torture is self centred. It's about what God can do for us. But that is not the message, it's about what we do for others. There is no way to accept that a Loving God would condemn people to torment. It's not loving. There is no way a just God would condemn people to eternal torment. The worst people on the planet wouldn't condemn people to eternal torment. The idea that a loving righteous God would makes a mockery of God. Preachers cling on to hell because it is a good tactic to convert people. God isn't interested in converts, God is interested in humanity living in harmony with each other as was intended.

It is a real place and Jesus warned people to turn to him so that they could go to heaven. If you read the Gospels and Revelation, Jesus spoke of hell far more than he did of heaven!
