Duck eggs are beautiful for this sort of work. Very nicely organised filming.

You can strengthen the egg by slightly enlarging the bottom hole and sucking in some thin plaster of Paris. Rotate the egg to coat the inside as evenly as possible. Allowing a larger proportion to settle at the bottom will mean that the egg will always stand upright.

I Do Ukrainian Easter eggs. Never thought of watercolour. I have the ground so I’ll see. Our egg painting has cultural references, community and religion. The Ukrainian eggs are very bright and completely covered in dyes. Glad you enjoyed it.

Adorable and charming, Billy. Thank you, so much for sharing. I have a suggestion for your Snow Drops in your garden....use some whole garlic cloves that have been smashed (not chopped up) and place them among your Snow Drops at the base of the plant. I've got deer, squirrels and many other critters who like to nibble on my plants here in Aiken, South Carolina. This has seemed to be a deterrent. The garlic cloves last for some time in any rain because they are thick. See if that works.

Maybe the simple copper sulfate ( green form) works too. This material acts like a distemper over calcium carbonate. Nice idea!

The egg shell surface on its own would repel the wet paint. Watercolour ground gives it the properties of watercolour paper.
