Funny enough, from what I understand, they both came into the collaboration with opposing goals: Lonely Island really wanted Michael Bolton to say the F-word because it was against his image. Michael Bolton really wanted to come out of the collab with his image intact so older folks would still buy his music. So, while he does eventually cuss in the song, it's a movie quote from one of the most well-known and oft-quoted movies ever that pretty much everyone will recognize.
