To swing, or not to swing. That is the question. All Jivers need to know the answer 😊

There are two different ways of returning a girl from Shuffles & Waist turns in the Jive. Swing out & return, and high lead. It’s not a a north west south or east thing. Neither is it exclusive to any style, although much more common with Rock ‘n’ Rollers. There could be two sisters or brothers in the same house using different returns.
What is certain though is that if you’re going to be Jiving in different countries with different partners, you need to know how to handle both.
The girls steps remain the same, she just goes turns different. It can be a bit daunting if she hasn’t come across it before, but after a couple of goes, she’ll be good to go.
As for the lads, yes you can change a girl over to high lead, but trust me it’s easier for you to change to swing out.
