Nice tutorial! Hi Rich, do you know what the "Composite Object Clashing" checkbox in the setting is about? Thanks

Thanks Woody for watching! The purpose of these rules is to ignore duplicate clashes in the clash detective tool.

Setting Up Rules for Clash Detection: 1. **Open Clash Detective:** - In Navisworks, go to the "Home" tab. - Click on "Clash Detective." 2. **Add a Test:** - Click on "Add Test." - Select the clash test criteria, such as the clash detection type (e.g., hard, clearance) and the objects involved. 3. **Define Selection Sets:** - Specify the selection sets for each clash test. These are the groups of items you want to clash against each other. 4. **Configure Tolerance:** - Set the tolerance level for clashes. This defines the acceptable gap or overlap between objects before Navisworks identifies it as a clash. 5. **Run the Clash Test:** - Click on "Run Test" to perform the clash detection. ### Finding Ignorable Clashes: 1. **Review Results:** - After running a clash test, Navisworks will display clashes in the "Results" tab. 2. **Sort and Filter:** - Use the sorting and filtering options to identify clashes based on severity, status, or other criteria. 3. **Review Ignorable Clashes:** - Look for clashes that are marked as "Ignorable." These clashes are considered less critical and can often be reviewed separately. ### Separating Ignorable Clashes: 1. **Create Selection Sets:** - In the "Items" tab, create selection sets for the clashes you want to separate. This can be based on the clash status or other criteria. 2. **Hide or Isolate Selection Sets:** - Use the "Hide" or "Isolate" commands to focus on specific clash selection sets. 3. **Review and Document:** - Evaluate the ignorable clashes separately, considering whether they need further action, documentation, or can be resolved without significant impact. By setting up rules, identifying ignorable clashes, and separating them for review, you can streamline the clash detection process in Navisworks. Adjusting clash settings and refining the criteria for your tests will help improve the accuracy of clash detection.
