Namaste, Maggots do not make compost as conveyed in the video. Maggots eat kitchen waste and excrete. The result is very little compost and more leachate. Not allowing maggots to invade is nearly impossible. The black soldier fly lays it's eggs near a decomposing, moist pile. The eggs hatch and maggots move into the compost pile/bin/drum. They start feeding on the vegetable waste and excrete. This leads to more liquid waste that is collected as lechate which is collected through a tap. Solid waste is minimal. If you take a 50 litre drum and keep adding kitchen waste, it may never get filled (or may take 3-5 years) if maggots are present. But, an unlimited quantity of lechate keeps becoming available. Maggots do not eat every waste we put in the kitchen waste bin. They are selective. Such uneaten food waste and cocopeat is what becomes the larger part of the compost over a period of time. (Maggots can be fed to large fishes and chickens/ducks before they enter pupa stage. The maggots are a great source of fat and protein, and therefore, a great food for chicken and fishes). So, saying maggots make compost would be incorrect. They manage waste effectively is more correct. Therefore, they are used for managing waste at municipal and town level.

Earthworms यानी की केंचुआ मिट्टी के लिये बहुत उपयोगी है ये पौधों को हानि नहीं पंहुचाता है। इसके अलावा अगर दीमक लग जाती है तो वो नुक़सान पहुँचा सकती है। तो आप ध्यान से देखिए कि आख़िर वो है क्या? लंबे लंबे केंचुआ होते हैं आप गूगल पर भी सर्च कर सकते हैं।

Normally you would top off the composting bulk with soil to prevent the smell from spreading. It's a decomposing mass of organic matter. It will smell. And bonus points if your soil has beneficial microbes. It will help the compost mature faster.

सर प्लीज हमें एक बात बता दीजिए कि अखीर में दो तीन महीनों में जब खाद तैयार हो जाती है तो वो फिर भी थोड़ी सी गिली गिली रहती है। मतलब कि पुरा खाद की तरह सूखती नहीं है।तो क्या हम उसको अखीर में ड्रम से निकालकर किसी कपडे पे बिछाकर धूप में यां छां में सूखा लेना चाहिए यां नहीं। वैसे वो ड्रम में तो अखीर में सूखता ही नहीं है। प्लीज़ सर यह जरूर बता दीजिए। धन्यवाद सर।
