Understanding the Binary numbering system with this video should be pretty easy and deep enough to give you FULL understanding rather than the basic idea.
If you have any questions, feel free to message me about it and ill certainly be glad to answer your comments and PM's.

Very nice description! I struggled for months in college trying to understand binary when being taught only the weighted table approach, with no explanation for why. Then within 5 minutes I hear "binary can be considered as all or none", and BOOM! Everything's so much easier to comprehend now :)

Thank you for finally getting me to understand Binary! I have been in the IT field for the last 22 years. My degree is in computer programming. I never could understand Binary the way I was taught. Most of you know, that if you are going to be a programmer, it is a huge help if you understand binary and is a must in some areas of programming. You made it look so easy, I don't know why everyone else can't make it look this easy. Thanks again!

You explained this sooo much less complicated than my teacher did. He kinda favors the kids he had last year in his other class... they all learned binary at that time, and I was left not knowing how it works because I didn't take that class.. so I took the liberty to come here and learn. Thank you for providing this very effective and easy to get video!

And I was worried that it wouldn't work for every single number, but I tested it: If you have a remainder of 1, you fill in the 1. Remainder 2, fill in the 2 box. Remainder 3, fill in both 1 and 2. R 4, fill in the 4! R 5, fill in 4 and 1. R 6, fill in 4 and 2. R7, fill in 4, 2, and 1. I could go on and on I'm so excited, but I won't because that would just be irritating. This is SO COOL!! It's like...another language. Anyway, thank you so much!! I can do life now XD

I think its pretty simple to explain. As you pointed out, binary is base 2 numbering system. That just means there is only 2 symbols to represent numbers. It is confusing for people because when they see the symbol "1" they automatically think in a base 10 system. In binary there are only 2 symbols to represent our numbers which means counting after the 2nd symbol you then add another column. In computers also often represent a status and not just to count so people must understand its symbolic.

Out of curiosity, I tried to find out how to understand Binary. I looked at about 3 videos before this one and could only grasp a hint of an idea of how it works. I don't know if it was just repetition but, this video was a lot easier to understand than the previous ones I've watched. Maybe it was because it was explained better here. Either way, thank you for helping people get a better understanding on the subject. It's much appreciated. :)
