Unlike what I showed in this video, the hack messes up the title screen, and the left and right movement is backwards for player 1, so you would need to map those to the opposite direction on the emulator.

@@arronmunroe Thanks, but as you said in another comment, this patch messes up the title screen, and the LEFT and RIGHT controls for Player 1 are reversed. We want the good stuff, we want to have what you have. :) I believe you can easily create an IPS patch from your patched ROM. Provided that you're willing to, of course.

There actually never was a better version. In this video, I just showed the regular title screen, but that wasn't how the title originally showed up. As for the reversed controls, since this was played on an emulator, it was easy to just map the buttons to the opposite directions.

Excuse me what? You've *hacked this game* to add a 2-player support??? I can understand things like cheat codes, level select, or replacing text for language translations, but hacking in *an entire freaking feature* and forcing the game to have the other character accept separate control inputs is mindblowing to me. On that note, considering this is a puzzle game with the core of the gameplay being attention splitting between two halves of the screen, suffice to say with two players it's pretty broken, especially evident by the bonus stages ^^ Speaking of bonus stages, I've noticed you must've done something so that the 2nd character in those doesn't start trapped in the cobweb (which it does in the normal game). Overall, quite amazing.

Adding support for a second player isn't as hard as you might think in this particular case. If I'm not mistaken, all NES games are constantly reading the second port for inputs, even though it isn't normally used. A minimal amount of changes were needed to make it so the second controller controls one player. I would also add, this is a modification to control a player that is already present. If you didn't know, there are other multiplayer hacks such as Ducktales 2 with a second player, which add a character that wasn't already present in the game originally. That is something I have never been able to do. I made a Co-op Bomberman 2 hack, but that game already had a second player in the game, which is normally only used for battle mode.
