The Spanish influence on Philippine folk dances is very evident! I like it! It stands out among all the other Asian dances.
@jae_quisol Жыл бұрын
I feel what makes it Asian is the textiles and the sheer skill of balancing water like that. And the dance moves are reminiscent of Polynesian culture.

January 2024 I learned I have a Filipina family (my 14 year old half-sister from my dad, and my step mom.) I had not heard from my Egyptian dad in 15 years, when my own daughter was born. Then dad passed away in August. I’m so glad I found my Filipina family and I want to learn as much as I can about the culture. I’m planning a trip in 3 years to the Philippines with my daughter to meet them. I know our family dynamics sounds weird, but family is family and I love my family and forgive my dad. 🩷

@@emailing I don't know what's binasuan but here in America Filipinos seem ashamed of their culture. They tend hide them to non Filipino people when they don't literally deny them.

It's all about drinking "tuba", once they get drunk, they compete in dancing while placing the glass full of "tuba" to different part of their body, the one who spilled "tuba" will be loser.
